AirPoweredMemberHey all.Was thinking about going low GI when working nights.I work out, have a pwo shake and then go to work where I'm up all night. So would it be better to eat low GI stuff, cause I still need the carbs, but not spiking insulin so much.Thoughts?

Richard SchmittModeratorI'm sorry, but it is explained in the book. You avoid Low GI carbs.

AirPoweredMemberI know, but I thought that was because low GI halted sleep hormones and such. But since I'm up all night anyway…But roger that!

Richard SchmittModeratorI definitely did not mean to sound rude, it is explained. Eat more fats and protein. You're basically following a morning training protocol since you get up, train, then work.

If this is the case, what you want to do is actually skip the carbs PWO and backload before you go to bed.

I just wondered what prompted you to want to switch to low GI...

AirPoweredMemberOh well because I sometimes work nights, so instead of eating a lot of High GI carbs post workout, I had an idea that low GI carbs might not spike insulin as much, since I was up all night anyway and didn't have to worry about getting enough carbs before bedtime, but it was kinda false logic on my part…
