Bradley R. CollinsParticipantMy take is it is probably something to worry about when and if you stall. I did, however, switch from Coke Zero to Diet Coke just to avoid the Ace K. I can't say that I see a difference in fat loss, though.

EStoneParticipantI try to limit diet pop to once in a while. If you are getting sick of just water, you can try mineral water like La Croix.

RoadblockParticipantOk, here goes. All of my info is from research either from books or from the net. I don't drink pop ever since my mom used to use it to clean coins when I was a kid.Pop is acidic and the PH value is around 2, this coupled with the dehydrating effect of caffeine have been known to raise stomach acidity and cause issues with the stomach lining and the gastrointestinal system. Phosphoric acid causes decreases in bone density. Now this is only for people who drink a lot of pop. How much is a lot? I don't know. Phosphoric acid will also cause tooth decay by erroding the enamel, but that was already mentioned. Like I said. As soon as I saw a shiny penny come out of a glass that had about 1" of Coke in it I wasn't too interested in it going into my stomach. The issues with bone density also hit home for me because I have always been heavy and the last thing I need is osteoporosis. Drink it all you want, just my 2c.RB

Lol RB you know stomach acid is more acidic than pop? It has a PH of around 1 in a healthy human. It too can dissolve dirt off a penny. Acetic acid (the acid in vinegar) can dissolve human skin in high enough concentrations.

Took the text right off my fingers iBob. The acidity of soda doesn't have the same effect on our stomachs or internal organs. They are build for worse. And I could argue against phosphoric acid being detrimental to bones as much as someone could that sodium nitrate is detrimental to vein and arteries.

cloudybrainParticipantI actually drink club soda, with a touch of lemon (or lime).. and a small pinch of citric acid (powder form) that pinch of powder packs a punch (say that 3x fast). Tastes gooooood.

daniel gillParticipantI drink Diet Coke a few times a week, and it doesnt seem to affect me negatively, other than the caffeine keeping me up at night. from what I've heard, the fountain version of Diet Coke doesnt have ASS-K or whatever it's called 🙂
