When do you get home? I'd do some carbs with the PWO shake and then have carbs at dinner when you get home.

You should start eating them when you feel its nest for your body and goals. Nobody can say for sure what going to work for you. Id say go as close to the books protocols as possible. Pretty much any training time has a protocol. If its early am relate it to the “optimal time farm” in terms of how long before bed you have.
