leasky36Participantso when it comes to the carb nite its better going for the low fat carbs from say 3pm – 7pm, then high fat carbs from 7 – 9 or up to 11 if you go the full 8 hours, and i think i need to go make up a list for carb nite products

Personally, I was a bit disappointed at how 'vague' the book seemed to be as opposed to books like Atkins and others where everything is spelled out, so I think I ended up overthinking the whole thing. I got caught up in the whole 'how much fat and when and how many carbs would be too little/too much'. I finally just ended up doing one carby meal and then a carby dessert a few hours later. My total carbs were roughly 140gm on my first CN and 180 on my second CN. In that 2 week period, I've lost 13 pounds. I'm not going to worry about whether it's too much/too little fat/carbs or even trying to eat over a 6 hour period and right before bed. I'm not even going to worry about whether I should do a CN every 7 days, or 10. I may decide to do it just every other week or whatever.Bottom line...just do it and record what you're doing. If that doesn't work, change it up until you find what works for you.

If I'm understanding, you have it.OPTIMALLY (re: not excessively necessary until you're trying to shed the last few percent), CN would start low fat, and end higher fat.

If I was going a three meal route in carb nite it would look like this: No-fat, Meduim-fat/low-fat, high fat. I wouldn't stick it to specific hours, more specific meals. My first meal I would be sure to have little to no fat in it, my last meal I'll be sure to have fat in it, and everything else in-between I would try and keep low fat, but not stress too hard about it.But you basically got the idea.

I would be a little disappointed if his book was a cookie cutter recipe for everyone, while he talks about how everyone is different and how you have to tweak things to work for your body. I feel he was straight to the point on everything he needed to be, and everything else was up for manipulation. But yes, I whole heartily agree with your bottom line. Record! ....Ok, I need to take my own advice and start recording again just so I know what is working for me.

leasky36Participantit was a question as i think i was getting my carb nites all messed up, eating fatty carbs and low fat carbs at the wrong times. but im try from low to high fat carbs on Friday see if i can get any difference, as i seem not to be losing weight, but hovering aground 200 to 199bs, as im doing carb nite every five days

CBachelor17MemberHave you tried going every 7 instead of 5? Usually the people who see success/ need to do a 5 day CN are lean already and trying to cut the last few %.

leasky36Participanti was doing 7 but i felt like i was getting no where, my weight been the same for the last few weeks, think i do a carb up on Friday, then going a full week ulc then carb up on the Friday night next week, see if i can see a difference between the 2i think my body fat is still quite high, i have dropped some but not alot, mostly off my legs and a bit off the stomach and a bit off the chest, think its because ive been quite lazy the last few weeks no going out for a walk, as ive not got much time for weight lifting at the moment, think i need to re calculate my protein and fat intake, this week ive been laying off cheese, but i have been using bacon fat and butter while cooking, and ive been back taking what ive got left of my fish oil, and heavy cream with my coffee, but think im going to try that later on in the day with the green tea

Okay so I would go back to the basics, 7 days ULC. By the 5th day, if you're struggling increase the good quality fats, keep yourself satiated and content. If you keep to what the CNS book holds, you'll be good. If you start to struggle with training and don't feel as great like 2-3 days Post-CN, dial it back, use some "auto-regulation".

Peter HuntParticipantBMI and body fat aren't related – it's just an equation based on your height and weight..
