Mason SullivanParticipantIn ND Kiefer explains that if doing resistance training with CNS you should follow the CBL protocols for ND. However, he lists morning/evening protocols as well as Density-Bulking and Strength Accumulation protocols under CBL protocols for ND. If I am, indeed, doing resistance training while on CNS which protocol should I follow? Sorry, but I want to make sure I have this down pat. Thanks!-Mason

Richard SchmittModeratorStrength Accumulation but following CNS with it. Meaning when to not take it during the actual CN.

Brandon D ChristParticipantI never really understood the ND recommendations for CBL very well. Through personal experience though, I found nicotine to be counter productive with Density Bulking for myself.

What do you mean by not understanding? Not critizing just curious

Some of the recommendations just don't make any sense. There is a evening and morning protocol. Ok good. But then there is an SA and DB protocol. What if you train at night and are doing SA? Which one do you follow? Do you take 4 mg in the morning like what it says to do for evening or do you take 2 mg in the morning and 4 mg before training. And why is the SA protocol having you take only 2 mg in the morning? Also it isn't very clear how you take the nicotine on off days, if you do at all.

Peter HuntParticipantI have to agree with ibobland, it's almost as if the SA protocol is designed for when you don't have carbs PWO, whereas the DB protocol always has the dose in the morning because you're meant to have carbs every night?Personally I stick to not having any on the day of CN and next day regardless of whether I train on the CN itself or not, plus make sure not to have any 24 hours before the start of the CN itself (which was in the original article, but not in ND, for some reason).

Maybe these can be addressed when able. While I read it and followed it according to SA, I am curious for a more in depth explaination about it.

Tracy JarchowParticipantAgreed. The description of how to implement the protocol very, very confusing. I'm on CNS and use 4mg it in the AM after my coffee and MCT and just before my workout and another in the afternoon. I've also noticed it really squashes any hunger for a few hours.

Richard SchmittModeratorThe way I see it is that if you lift in the PM while doing CNS, I would follow that protocol. At least this is what I was answered from Kiefer. I'd still avoid it on days you do the CN though. Even with 2x a week.

I think you can take as much nicotine as you want on CNS. The only exception is you abstain the day of the CN and the day after.

Peter HuntParticipantI'd say that's bang on the money, maybe also avoid it for 24 hours pre-feast unless training on CN itself as per the original article too (as nicotine takes 24 hours to clear the system).

Richard SchmittModeratorSo who's all taking this?
