Book explains either a) backload after an evening resistance training or b) backload the evening prior a morning resistance training. HIIT is not resistance training, so therefore you should go ULC, take a PWO Shake with whey and leucine in it.

I'll be on using the Strength Accumulation protocol. My HIIT will involve intervals of dynamic push ups, burpee's, prone cobra's etc. My thinking is, I would expect a depletion in glycogen due to muscle use. So, in theory shouldn't I backload some carbs for the next days resistance training?

something you would need to play with and test on yourself.. i personally have carbs every day now but i also lift 6 days a week

I have had the best results while including HIIT in my resistance workouts.  i.e 4-6 minutes of tabata before or after.  (I usually do it after so my resistance training is strong)
