shaffe43MemberTomorrow is my second carb nite. This week has not gone well on the scale. Since the last carb nite I am still up 2.8 Lbs. I do not think I did anything wrong and my diet has been good all week. So I just wanted to run my plans for carb nite tomorrow night past everyone.Would it be technically ok to start off carb nite w/ a serving of swedish fish or something easy like that to spike the insulin. My thinking was along the lines of:5:00pm - Swedish Fish or Maltodextrin7:00pm - Chicken Lo Mein or General Tso's w/ Fried Rice (Depending on who you look at this has 0 to 9g Fat)9:00pm - Spaghetti or Pizza (Should I add swedish fish or Maltodextrin to this as well?)10:30pm - Ice Cream or More Swedish Fish or MaltodextrinI think that I am looking for 400 to 500g Carbs. 6'3 / 33 / 245 / goal weight 196Thanks!

1. How do you look in the mirror/how do your clothes fit? 2. Do you exercise during the week? 3. It's only been a little over 2 weeks so you really shouldn't be too worried. 4. Most likely you didn't do anything wrong with your diet but if you are no one here can tell without seeing it. Post what you ate during the week. 5. Yes it is fine to start with swedish fish. 6. The first ingredient on swedish fish is sugar. You really should try to limit your sucrose intake as it is half glucose half fructose and high fructose intake can cause issues (I only say this because you have swedish fish 3 times in your planned CN). Maltodextrin would be better as it is a polyssacharide of glucose. 7. Spaghetti or any pasta (aside from rice flour based) isn't that ideal for insulin spiking.

Charles T GrimsleyMemberWell the ULC stuff looks good so I would just say watch the sugar/may experiment with the amount of fats in your backload i.e. icecream pizza vs. white rice and potatoes. Otherwise I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. Give it a couple more weeks and see where you are at.

Thanks man!I ended up .2 lbs higher today than last week. But did lose .5 inch off of stomach. All in all I am ok w/ that. I just wanted to make sure everything looked ok for the carb nite at the Macro Level.I will back off on the fats tonight and see what kind of results that provides.Ill go:5:00pm - Maltodextrin7:00pm - Beef Lo Mein and crab rangoon9:00pm - Spaghetti w/ bread sticks & Maltodextrin11:00pm - Maybe Ice Cream or Maltodextrin again before bedDo you think shooting for 400 gCarbs is a good number?
