agentmadsParticipantDuring my backload yesterday I got this weird feeling – almost like feeling drunk..Approx. one hour after my pwo shake I had chicken and rice (a good amount of rice - like 100-120 grams of carbs worth) for dinner. I had 5 grams of leucine right before.. Like 5 minutes after finishing dinner I almost felt drunk - can this be due to the big insulin release? or perhaps because of the Leucine? (i've been low carb dieting for some time before really starting CBL a couple weeks ago) I've not felt like this on CBL before....and this was a pretty typical dinner..Rest of the evening went backloading rice cakes, some ice cream and m&m's and another pwo shake.. This was one of my bigger backloads - but this morning i felt a little flat and a little sluggish, and my morning hiit lost intensity very quickly this morning.. Can this be because of the carbs coming in, in a relative short period of time? - about two hours from starting dinner until finishing backloading - or maybe just not enough carbs?Really just trying to figure out how this whole CBL-thing works. Thanks!

Richard SchmittModeratorCould be the spike you felt and what you experienced was having not enough carbs. A sluggish feeling with a flat look mean didn't have enough. Looking watery and with enough energy you had enough or too much. Tight full feeling means good for that evening.

agentmadsParticipantOkay.. The amount if carbs have been fine before. Could it have some with the timeframe they were eaten in? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Richard SchmittModeratorNormally you keep your backload around 2-4 hours PWO.

agentmadsParticipantSo I did – just wondering why the carb amount wasn't enough since it use to work fine. Does the body become more inefficient the more carbs one eat at once? So, the more carbs at once = more inefficiency? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

TCBParticipantRemember back in algebra when they introduced having to solve for two variables? I'd see that and be like “shit. how the hell do I solve for TWO variables?!” Now imagine trying to solve for 37 million variables. That's the human body.Unless you establish a pattern of this happening, write it off and continue as normal. Who knows what may have happened inside your body that particular day to cause something out of the normal? If a pattern of this does emerge, then it's time to start making tweaks and changes

Ha, yeah.. You're right. Just wanted to check that it wasn't something bad for sure..
