lillywhitesMemberI have no issues using Carb Nite and will blend it with Intermittent Fasting. However, my wife has a terrible time losing any weight. I'm wondering if it is not enough good fat, or not enough protein, but need some help. She is 5'3″, 33, 125lbs @ 25%BF. Her goal is to drop to 20%BF and weight around 115lbs. Below is what a typical day looks like for her. What happens is that she will start to lose weight, and drop from 125 down to 123, and 122 a couple of times, but that is all. After initial 10 day purge, Carb Nite is every 7 days. I also have her lifting weights 3 days a week.Any help/comments is appreciated. Thanks.Breakfast:Coffee 1Tbspn Creamer+ 1Tbspn Half & Half1 Egg (maybe 2), two slices of cheese (maybe two small sausage links)Lunch:Atkins Low Carb MealDinner:After Dinner snacks some days is Wine and CheeseProtein (Fish/Chicken/Steak) and steamed veggies.

GnomerParticipantIs she seeing any physical changes. My scale barely moves but I have seen huge recomping of my body. Also eating too much maybe an issue. It is easy to over eat on it.

Did she weight train prior to this? She will gain muscle if not, so weight will be a poor measurement. She may need to have a bit more control on the carb nite itself, depending on how she is doing it.Also, pretty much anything labeled atkins is likely something she should cut out.

lillywhitesMemberI have arranged new tape measurements with her (i'll wear body armor), and while she is lifting weights 3x per week, only 2 nights are weight only, as one night is Zumba + weights beforehand. With the typical day outlined below, hard to imagine she is over in calories for the day. Her Atkins lunch is simply one of the frozen lunches that is low in carbs. I'd estimate her daily carb intake at less than 30, with a morning spike from coffee of less than 10gms of carbs. There is muscle growth and some recomp, but nothing significant, as her clothes still fit the same. Her genetic makeup (mother/grandmother/aunt) is pear-shaped, and it is the lower half that refuses to budge.

lillywhitesMemberOn this particular occasion, 1 month, then a two week break due to frustration….am re-setting, looking to start again this Thursday. Last year it was 3 months Jan – Mar. What makes it worse is that i'll drop weight and fat pretty readily (not much to lose anyway). I'm looking at adding in more fats from Avocado's, Pistachio's, Coconut Oil, and Fish Oil supplements. Have to look in the book, but i think Avocado's have a really low net carb value. On her weight training, i've gotten her to come around the to understanding that there is no such thing as "toning", and while her weight program is balanced, there is a leg focus to get the big muscles working.

GnomerParticipantA month really isnt that long and with the break she might need more time to see the results she wants.

lillywhitesMemberanyone help on what percentage of Fats Vs. Protein? Looking to add in more Avocado, Pistacchios, Olives, Coconut Oil, but not sure on what percentage of her diet should be fats vs. proteins, as keeping under 30gms per carbs she's good at.thanks..
