case terrebonneParticipantI was able to get down to 236 on CNS, then stopped the diet and now back up to 275. I was curious to see if CBL is appropriate for me or should I do CNS until I get down in weight then switch to CBL?

yes, went from about a 37" waist now a 42" I pretty much blew up. I was just curious to see if CBL will shed the weight like CNS will.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorNo, it wont.Unless you are training a lot, and very performance focused then do CNS until you are at least 15% BF.

It likely wont, and doesnt for most. Idk how long you followed CNS or how long you stopped to be where you are currently.. But plainly put, cbl wont be as effective for losing large amounts of bf. ..Best to stick to it as trevor said

When on CNS, I lose weight no issue, I got off CNS and gained the weight. I was just curious if I needed to wait until lower BF to switch to CBL.

Oh...then that's not the diet's fault nor switching to CBL. Stick to CNS.

The diet works like it should. I was just trying to see if CBL would allow me to still drop fat and be able to eat carbs more than once a week. I just can't shake my carb habit no matter how hard I try.

If you have problems with carb cravings/controlling what you eat then CNS is definitely the way to go. CBL is optimal for people at lower bf% because their bodies deal with the carbs/insulin spikes better. CBL is meant to improve your lifting performance not just let you devour whatever carbs you please. At a high bf% and eating like that you will certainly struggle to drop any fat, most likely you would gain fat.Kiefer & Dr. Rocky have mentioned it a couple times in their previous podcasts that people who go on low-carb diets for extended periods of time eventually lose carb cravings that they get. Go back to CNS and get your bf% in check then switch to CBL. You'll be able to enjoy the backloads to a more liberal extent that way.

Yes I heard that touted by them two. I was on CNS for 7-8 months went from 308 to 236. There was never a day that went by that I didn't want to eat carbs. So when they say that the cravings stop, it never did for me.

Charles T GrimsleyMemberThat is a huge weight loss. What were your CN's like? Just a 6-8 hour binge of whatever/however much of anything you wanted or did you ever try to control/moderate them a little? If you always crave them it will simply be a matter of will power and establishing a habbit of moderating the amout of carbs you eat and not eating any when you are ULC. If you get back down to 15% bf you would do well switching to CBL and using very moderate backloads. You don't sound like the type of person that can just eat whatever for backloads and make progress...I know you technically can do that with the diet but if you have such a problem with cravings/controlling what you eat then you will want to keep limits so that a backload doesn't turn into a CN or eating carbs during the day.

On the carb nite's, I was craving carbs so much it was a straight feast from 4:30 until midnight. It would have been no problem for me to eat 1000 grams of carbs in a night. Not even a problem. Hell, I can eat a whole large papa john's pizza in one sitting.I'll have to have some will power for sure. After next week, I will get back on CNS. I will also try to calm down on the carb nights. Maybe two cherry turn overs to get things started and then a carb meal for supper and that's it.
