KarbniteMemberHi, I have been using carb nite, strictly, with no cheating, for over 2 months. I am “skinny fat” about 5,9, and thin, 155 pounds. All my fat is around my belly and love handles. I have not seen noticeable improvements during this time. Am I doing something wrong? The following is what I eat/doWorkout 5-6 days a week, heavy lifting.Protein sources Eggs, beef, chicken, salmon, turkey, whey proteinFat sources Macadamia nuts, almonds, hazelnuts, peanut butter, butter, coconut oil, olive oil If I stop the nuts, where will I get my fat? You can only eat so much oilCarbnites(each is a sample day) every 5th dayI usually don't go to crazy, quantity wiseChinese food, with rice, meat, etc Burger, fries, dessert Pizza, pretzels Maybe a glass of milk, otherwise no dairy, with cereal, dessertThank you

TCBParticipantA couple of thoughts..If you didn't become "skinny fat" in 2 months, it's kind of silly to expect to get rid of it in 2 months. Are you male/female? As Ibob has pointed out several times as of late, especially on males, if you don't have a decent amount of muscle mass, getting very lean is going to be tough. Gain some muscle.

KarbniteMemberThanks for replyingI am male. Does that mean ditch cns and do carb backloading? Any suggestions?

Brandon D ChristParticipantI would stop trying to train so much. You sound like you're really stressing your body. I would do this for a few more weeks. If there are no results then I would consider doing CBL to give your body a break from trying to lose fat. Also try to stop eating so many nuts. Eat really fatty cuts of meat. That's where your fat will come from. My favorites are burgers, chicken wings, ribs, and bacon. Fried eggs are good too.Judging by your height/weight you aren't really overweight or anything so the fat loss isn't going to be rapid at your point.

KarbniteMemberIbob, do you mean eat chicken wings, chicken legs, etc with the skin? Is that healthy for the heart? Or any of the other fatty meats consumed in such huge quantities?

I think it's fine. The fats in chicken skin aren't really any different than the fat from nuts. Bacon fat as very similar to olive oil. I'm not going to get really into what is "heart healthy" because there is so many differing opinions on it.Really though, the fat sources aren't a very big deal. Nuts just tend to be hyperpalatable, causing you to eat too much. Also they contain a good bit of carbs that can add up if they are staples in your diet.

NewfiedanParticipantFrom my most recent toying with macro ratios on cns I would try more moderate protein and higher fat ratios. I recently set mine to 100 g each and it seems to be working well so far.Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk

Scott AueParticipantAny idea what your BF % is? I agree w/ Ibob. CNS is primarily a fatloss protocol. At best you only get a small insulin surge post workout (PWO) from whey/leucine so the diet just doesn't lend itself to much muscle gain. If you < 20% BF, I would go with CBL and limit your carbs PWO to a small window. This will hopefully help you begin to build some muscle and slowly move your body comp. in a more favorable range. Also, STOP WORKING OUT SO MUCH! Heavy lifting on a low carb, lower calorie diet 5-6 days a week is a recipe for trouble. Rest more.
