Hi guys,I've read CBL a few times now and I get the gist of it but I'm still a little confused and need a little clarity if anyone could enlighten me.A quick summary(I'm trying to bulk but not gain too much fat):At the moment in the morning I have a low carb meal 20g fat and 10g protein, untill workout I do not eat anything, and pre-workout (workout at 3:30pm) i have 5 grams Bcaa.Post workout around 4:30pm, I have 75g protein and 50g dextrose protein shake immediately after workout. About an hour and 1/2 later I have a high fat, high protein and low carb lunch.about 3-4 hours after I have a high protein high fat dinner, and a high carb/fat desert about 50g+ carbs.Im a little confused, should I be eating less fat for lunch the meal 1 hour and 1/2 after post workout shake?I understand int he evening before I can have high fat and high carb, but my high fat and high protein post workout lunch is that wrong. Can someone give me some insights.ThanksG

So you're on some sort of shift work schedule I'm assuming?Since you really didn't give quantities of macro totals or calories, I can't say for sure.. but it seems like you're going to be too low to bulk.As for your direct question about less fat for lunch.. No, it's not necessary to eat less fat. In fact, more fat is probably preferable there, as opposed to later with your carbs. Purely for gastric emptying purposes.

Not shift work, that's just the easiest way to plan my day.I get about 2600 - 3000 calories daily, 2600 calories are minimum for me to bulk based on my weight height and and fat percentage etc...My main concern is, what is the rule/suggestion with fats post workout, I understand keep fats out int he post workout shake, but should we limit them after workouts completely in the post workout meal and dinner, or not really worry about it and just up the carbs.G

Like I said, not necessary.. You're essentially doing AM workouts. So if you limited fat the rest of the day after a workout, you'd essentially be doing a SAD; super high carb, super low fat. But, try both and find what you get your best results with.

What time do you normally wake up and go to bed?

Cheers mate! Thanks for the insight, not cutting fat allows me to get all my calories in a little easier!

I go to bed around 12am 12:30am and naturally wake up around 7am - 7:30am.

I would eat a solid meal around 11 AM or so (~50 g of protein and a decent amount of fat) and I would ditch the dextrose post workout.I would also backload the night after your training session, not the night before.  You can either start backloading immediately after your workout, which is what I would recommend, or you can wait until later in the evening.

Oh damn. I assumed you were waking at like 1:30/2. Hence my comment about a shift work schedule+1 to what Ibob said.  To me rule #1 of bulking is quit fasting. Wake up, get some sort of nutrition in.

In the morning arround 8am I down a coffee butter mixture, of about 20g butter 10g protein, and that's when I actually start my fast, you guys suggest eating a high protein & Fat meal around 11am – I can easily throw that in no problems!ibobland08 I was wondering  why you suggest to ditch the dextrose post workout, what would I replace it with, just have an only protein shake and then an hour after have my back-load meal?CheersG

Wouldn't you rather get your carbs from real food and not dextrose?
