I have been doing carbnite for about two years now, and I have seen slow steady results. I have not been counting macros or calories, but I have seen my strength go up and my weight slowly drop on the program. I decided to move to CBL to shake things up a bit since I appeared to be stalling, but I have run into a problem. My energy levels are in the toilet AFTER carb ups. I did about two weeks of CBL and saw some weight loss, but my energy levels in the gym were garbage. I did a 2.5 week keto run, and pr'd my deadlift for the first time in six months (520@175) and did a carb up that night. Two days later I was drained during training. Right now it appears I am getting weight loss with CBL, but my energy levels are better the longer I go without carbs. Unfortunately my weight also creeps back up when I stay keto.I understand my maxes will go down with weight loss, but I usually don't have an overall fatigue that hinders me from doing assistance movements. I usually do about two hours in the gym with good energy levels, I have been crapping out around an hour and a half now.

It could be just a general lack of under eating, if you have shifted your diet and reduced fat and added carbs, you could actually be under eating. It could also be you just need to get used to having carbs again after so long.

+1Also pulling a max single on a deadlift is extremely CNS intensive.  I would expect a decrease in strength for the next week or so.Has the nature of training stayed the same since the switch to CBL?

I did recently switch training. I had been doing the new sheiko 4 day program, and switched to a higher intensity lower volume setup. I still train four days a week, I just work up to a heavy triple or single  then do back off sets based off that number. The split works out to be squat/bench, deadlift/bench/squat, bench/squat, deadlift/press/front squat. I do accessory work depending on how I feel, usually 3 or so movements a day.

I work with Sheiko personally.  I wouldn't modify his training programs.  The volumes and intensities are very meticulously planned.  This is probably why you are tired.

Also worth noting that you are diabetic (as mentioned in another thread).  In that case, I think your body may react very differently to carbohydrates than people who are not diabetic.  I am reading Jimmy Moore's Keto Clarity right now, and, as he says frequently — maybe your body just really prefers to run on ketones.

I meant I switched to a different program, I would not presume to make large modifications to one of his programs. I was basing my new program off the “Squat Every Day” book, and Nick Horton's stuff at “weightliftingacademy.com”. So far I think I got myfitnesspal to start tracking my calories, and I think part of the problem is I am inadvertently running around a 1000 calorie deficit. I have a  very physical job (flooring warehouse) and I train around 1.5 to 2 hours four days a week. Going off that I should have a bmr of around 3500ish on training days and i'm only getting 2500 to 2600 on average. I am going to fix that first, and see what happens.
