Just went through the mail from Kiefer, and does anybody know why he changed his mind about late afternoon training, and now advises that we train earlier in the afternoon? I realize that we should wait an hour for the PWoS so training a little earlier makes sense but early afternoon was heavily discouraged in the CBL, because of circadian rhythms and insulin resistance (also being able to wait 4+ hours after lunch so we train fasted).Any thoughts on that or are you as confused as me?

It's never changed, it has always been between 3-5pm or 3-6pm as the optimal time.

so is that assuming lunch at noon? What if I eat lunch around 2pm because I tend to wake up not too early but go to bed pretty late?

I tend to try and eat lunch pretty late also so I stay in fat burn mode as long as possible

It all depends, I can't say because I don't know what you're schedule is normally like. I do believe the book talks about some timing in terms of upon waking and the next meal. Also a couple times he mentioned that it is not a great idea to fast longer than 12 hours, so get a meal in. Train when you can. Like mentioned before optimal time for a normal circadian rhythm is between 3-5pm

The optimal time to train is as late possible while still having enough time to backload.  For the average person who wakes up at 7 am and goes to bed at 11 pm, it is going to be at around 5pm.Basically you want to end your workout about 5 hours before your bed time.
