leonard francoisMemberSo I'm training usually around 7pm, finishing around 8-8h30pm, wait an hour, take my PWS at 9-9h30pm, wait half an hour, eat a big carb meal at 9h30-10h (usually lean meat and white rice), wait at least an hour before I eat some “saucisson” (which is thick, dry cured pork sausage that originates in France. About 50% protein and 50% fat) and go to bed.Should I try to train earlier or does that works fine?

Richard SchmittModeratorWell question is, can you train earlier? Normal time is between 3-5 (6pm). Doesn't seem like an issue to me though.

The question is does the current time you train allow you enough time to eat enough carbs, and get to sleep without sleep being effected. If so, then it's fine. I normally start training sometime between 6:30-7:30 myself.

+1As I said before, the best time to train is as late as possible while still having enough time to backload PWO.

MagParticipantI have a question along the same lines being that I often train late also. The one -hour wait with the PWO Carb Shock has really compacted things before bed time. What would be the minimum amount of time after the Carb Shock to begin eating, and what would be the wisest thing to have first? It has kind of turned into something where I really can't space it into “meals”,more like “grazing”.

MagParticipantSorry folks,my apologies.I see that this very situation is discussed in ” So, who is waiting an hour before PWO shake?” thread.I am not alone.

Richard SchmittModeratorI am.

Sascha HeidParticipantI train very late as well, most days from 10:30pm to 0am.I assume it is OK to reduce the 1 hour wait in this scenario because your body has been "suffering" through the catabolic state almost the whole day.And since I did not lose much weight in the prep-phase I can not eat that many carbs anyways. My current target makros are 125carbs 175fat 150protein and eating that amount of carbs after training is no problem.Usually I take the shake 30minutes after workout and shortly after I begin to eat.

MagParticipantHold on a second.I thought I had a handle on things until I saw this.I mean, this is a huge difference that CANNOT be ignored,it would seem.Big difference here. This means eating like a Champ from 5 to 7, and training at 9,settling down, taking a groggy PWO/carb shock and hitting the pillow.Totally different.

Sascha HeidParticipantI have seen the webinar, but what if your whole day is shifted towards the evening?I think I remember when they talked about that and said that it is unknown how strongly, if even at all, this affects your circadian rhythm and should affect your timing.I like best what ibobland08 said: "train as late as possible while still having enough time to backload PWO".
