    I am currently doing the ice cream 5×5 routine, but my gym doesn't have a barbell. I only have a smith Machine, a crossover machine and dumbbells that go to 50lbs… Is it ok that I am doing my bench presses and my squats on the smith machine? Thanks!

    It's not the same at all and you wont get near the results from the program you would otherwise.Best advice, get a new gym.

    damn… well it is my buildings gym so I basically don't have to pay for it. I will take your advice.

    Find a new gym. Preferably one with a squat/power rack, bench, 20kg barbells and round plates.

    I would agree with the plan for finding a new gym.  For a while I was only using a smith machine because it was all my gym had.  I didn't get nearly as effective results as I do while squatting with a barbell, and it severely restricts range of motion, so I having some lower back/knee issues with it + Shoulder pain when using it to bench

    yes you are right, I did notice the shoulder discomfort with benching… I will have to find a proper gym, the LA Fitness around here is usually packed.Thanks all for the recommendation.
