Just wondering why heavy amounts of protein powder on this diet get a bad rap compared to eating high protein food. Is it the rapid absorption of whey that spikes insulin that food doesnt give, or does meat high in protein raise it just as much , but its a necessary evil to living, so its not ridiculed?

Whey is insulin spiking, high amounts of protein is insulin spiking. It is just something to avoid during the day and control. You already answered the why.  The AM Shake from the CBL book is okay still.
