christopher brasfieldMemberSo I have read the book a few times & have even came close to re-writing it in form of cliff notes. I have a thorough understanding of why CBL can work but, not much an understanding of actually implementing the diet itself. Please excuse my ignorance if these questions are obvious. So the first 10 days are preparation phase where no carbs are consumed. Day 11 starts the CBL where carbs are introduced. Question 1: Page 162 defines Middle Training as "any time between the first meal of the day to shortly after noon & is possibly the worst time to train." My training begins at 2p.m. but I train fasted as from my interpretation could be beneficial (am I correct or not?) however, I do include the coffee & Heavy whipping cream prior to training. Since I train 2 hours afternoon but not before the 1st meal am I considered "Middle Training?"Question 2: During CBL phase page 230 instruct to determine the desired weight & my desire weight is 170lbs. Therefore per the chart I would consume roughly 130g of P, 32g of F, & 17g of C for a total of 1,498 calories. (This is very low calorie if I'm following correctly but don't believe that I am? Then it states to consume 83g of P with your carbs in the evening including post-training shake. So is this an additional 83g of P or do I subtract the calories of post training shake from 83g of P & consume the residual? Even if it is an additional 83g of P; then this is still only an total of 1,830 calories which seems low for a diet that I'm supposed to include some dirty carbs too. The sample meal plans are for a 200 lb man on SA which when estimating the food as shown in sample are much more than 1,830 calories worth of food throughout the day. I could go on but will someone please help get me on track? Apparently I'm TOTALLY missing some macros . I hate making something that supposed to be so simple; so difficult. By the way, I train M-F, 8-12 reps, heavy volume. Approximate weight is 190 lbs. Thanks for anyone that took the time to read this & that provides help!!!

Is there a section within this sight to bring myself up to date or you just troll & stumble over info? I have used the search function to “search” for answers to my questions, only to find that others are so advanced in latest info that I'm almost certain to appear as a henderance… :-[Thanks

The chart is confusing for some (most) people.A good rule of thumb is half your total protein intake during the day, and around half the gram of protein for fat.The best way to get more info is to go to Body.io and listen to all the podcasts.

christopher brasfieldMemberThanks for the reply Trevorxgage!!! I will follow the instructions you provided. I'm a very analytical individual & take all things way to serious for most. I feel my time is precious & thought I would be following numerical instructions to reach a goal. I have abandoned my normal cut routine for CBL but as you stated; I find the chart open-ended & full of possibilities. Kind of like stating buying a bottle of vanilla flavoring, a pound of sugar, carton of eggs & sack of flour; if you mix it correctly you could get a cake. Anyhow, thanks again for your reply!

Max I mean no disrespect but Lmao this was seriously funny. I had no idea you posted a question needing help. Apologies!Like Trevor said, it can be confusing. Following his suggestions would be best, and experimenting the way the book is written for a solid 4-6 months is going to be ideal for you. So that you are going to be well structured in it, and then modify it to your needs. The webinar podcast can really help set a meal structure for your day on when you train.

christopher brasfieldMemberThanks Big T. That my personality serious but sarcastically funny. Can't control it; just comes out that way but it makes a point. So I'm guessing the chart is for the macro's consumed for the day to include the PWO shake & the CBL up until bedtime are macros made up on trial & error based on the type of dirty high glycemic carbs plus the shake recommended? Is this a fair guesstimate or do I still have it all wrong? I see guys stating to ingest 1-2g of X or .5 of Y to determine your macros for the entire day; Well everybody has been doing this since Jay Cutler was tight rolling his jeans. CBL came across to me as something different' maybe because the book was detailed so well & everything but splitting atoms was covered so thoroughly. I apparently expected the macros of the diet to reflect the literature as well. At least I have now found through trolling that 2-5pm is the best time for training now & no longer anytime after 5pm as being optimum. Along with finding about shockwave. Which in my opinion is getting ahead of the users because there are 20,000 questions more or less asking and polling the same questions that I have but regurgitated in a different way & that wouldn't be happening if they really knew the correct answers themselves. Hey look, I want us all to do well & it seems that there could be a sticky or something referencing the latest info & a chart for CBL evening for macros but hey this is my second day & I don't know crap but it could be a thought? CBL & latest products are getting ahead of the people that still are out there guessing what is working best for them. Just my $.02 cents & I do have a drive for helping people & feel that some are lost as me. However if you could answer the question above just to let me know I'm in the ball park somewhere. Thanks again!

Richard SchmittModeratorYeah the BW to Carbs Chart shows the max amount your muscles could possibly hold. I would consume half the protein needs in the first half of the day, with fats being about the same in terms of grams. At least half a gram of fat per gram of protein.
