So, I've been searching pretty hard trying to find low-fructose, high glycemic foods that are also likely to be clean and low in mycotoxins/antinutrients etc. (so no corn products, grains, or even anything with almond flour in it really). Anyways, watermelon seems to be the one food out there that fits this bill.  Can anybody think of any others?  I know Kiefer is big on bananas.  -Adam

White rice flour and cassava/tapioca flour are two big things for me.Other then that I do super super ripe frozen banana's, white rice, potatos (White and sweet, no skins) and squash.

Thanks Trevor,Tapioca flour looks like it should be pretty low in mycotoxins, so I'll give it a try.  Looks like you could make a pretty badass tapioca pudding thing with some non-alcoholic extracted vanilla, raw eggs, coconut milk, and sea salt.Cheers,Adam

That's a really good idea.  Sweeten with dextrose and you're truly rocking a bulletproof back-load.

So how was it?  Did you come up with a good recipe?

Whoops!  I “split off” Trevor's response to create a “recipe” post but it didn't retain it or provide a link to the new post.  Here it is (in the CBL Members-only section):http://dangerouslyhardcore.com/forum/index.php?topic=1467.0

Naomi,Ah I really don't know about that--I've really gotta disagree with you on dextrose being bulletproof from what I've looked at. The large commercial brands seemed to be derived from corn and according to the agricultural reports, Fusarium tends to grow in highest quantities on the starches (like dextrose and maltodextrin).  Do you have a source of dextrose or maltodextrin that you know for sure don't have this problem?  (The same problem seems to appear with maltodextrin and really every other commercially derived carby powder out there except for Tapioca Starch).-Adam

Oh, that's interesting, I didn't know that about the corn starches.  That's something to think about.I'm only slightly sensitive to mycotoxins, so I would never have bodily noticed the possible effects of Fusarium.I'll keep my ears and eyes open for more info on this topic, but I won't have time to research it myself this week.  Let me know if you find out if there's a "clean" source of corn starches.

Adam,I know Dave has stated he will use Dextrose himself when he feels like he needs the glucose.Maybe you can ask him what brand he'd recommend, I know he is good at answering questions like that over twitter.

Trevor,Thanks for suggesting that--I've heard him say that too and it confused me to after finding all of that other stuff out.  I'll see what I can get out of him.  Would be pretty damn convenient if for some reason they aren't a problem.-Adam
