TheRevKeymasterAn excellent, exhaustive, non-partisan study on creatine. Not conducted by a nutritional supplement company or other biased business. Just straight science. http://www.musclefeast.com/uploads/file/Creatine%20Recommendation%20Report.pdf

Big_RParticipantIt greatly interests me that creatine is linked to myostatin and (according to the information linked above) IGF-1 8)I'm sure the subject of "optimal creatine usage/dosage" will be address eventually. It's created a spark of interest amongst myself and other DH members from what i've seen...

Brandon D ChristParticipantThis was written by someone from Muscle Feast, which is a supplement company. They also didn't conduct an experiment, they just did research, which isn't necessarily bad, but it is secondary information.

TheRevGuestI apologize for the confusion. Allow me to clarify. The scientist that conducted the research was a neutral party. Sean Gillispee, the owner of Muscle Feast, asked permission to publish the study on his website. That is why the name is on the cover page. Interestingly, the type of creatine that seemed most effective is not even sold on Muscle Feast. That should say something. As far as experimentation goes, that can be a mixed bag. The 'fat free' craze of the early nineties was supported by experimentation. People lost weight when they eliminated fat from their diet. We now know better. Even with creatine, many nutritionists and scientists are of the opinion that athletes should cycle their use of it. Kiefer, on the other hand, says to take it regularly. However, I do agree that it is always the case of caveat emptor. Also, if something works for you, stick with it.

KieferParticipantThanks for sharing this. I will take a look at it–I'm curious to see how he makes his conclusions and if he has found newer research than what I've been working with (I'm about 8 to 9 months out of date on the state of creatine supplementation right now other than it's interactions with myostatin and it's ability to allow longer-duration super-compensation and rapid repletion).

TheRevGuestBy all means, enjoy! For the record, I don't cycle creatine. I think it's rubbish.

RonFullerGuestI've been taking creatine for years, since the Bill Phillip days, I'm 53. I don't cycle it. In fact, during a 12 week powerlifting competition cycle I use ConCrete on my training days ONLY in which I take 2 with meals 3 times and then 4 pre-workout and that seems to give me the best effect. I weigh 200 lbs. Try it and tell me you notice an extreme difference in 1RM.
