Got a question regarding HIIT on Carb Nite. I understand Kiefer is coming out with an updated version of Carb Nite for Weight Trainers/active people, but just going by the book, it sounds like doing HIIT is highly not recommended. From the book, "try to avoid highintensityaerobic exercise—running, cycling, jogging, rowing—while on The Carb Nite Solution. These activities actuallyaccelerate muscle loss and increase cortisol levels for severaldays, making it possible to grow new fat cells on Carb Nite."Then from listening to some of the current podcasts, I hear Kiefer saying that he has some of his athletes doing HIIT, for example a 4 min (100%)/2 min rest. So, if Kiefer has found the advantage of performing HIIT while on Carbnite, what exactly is the protocol. In addition, is this HIIT/Carbnite protocol speeding fatloss or what is the advantage. Personally, I am having great success with Carbnite losing fat, however; I am getting to that 10% range where it is getting more difficult to mobilize fat and I am just looking for a way to stay on the diet and continue to reach lower fat percentage levels. Could anyone help?? Thanks!!Helrayza

It's mainly used during the first couple of days after a carb nite, to faster deplete glycogen stores. HIIT later in the week still isn't recommended.

Shockwave Ripped uses CNS as the diet and calls for one hour of HIIT a week.

^^^ That's also with what, 4 minute rest periods?Anyway, +1 to Draugluir. A day or two after can be beneficial, anything more is at best unnecessary.

Hey guys,I did fail to mention that the Shockwave/ripped protocol is what basically caused the confusion as well. Yes, it does call for 2-35 min sessions or 3-25 min sessions. However; the CB book states not too, unless doing it 2-3 days following a carbnite. So, what I am gathering is that doing HIIT will only deplete the glycogen stores 2-3 days after Carbnite, and doing it for more days afterward would only hinder fat burning? And there is no new literature from Kiefer out there prescribing a method for accelerating fat burn using HIIT while on Carb Nite. Thanks!!
