Hey Guys,I currently have a bunch of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey... It has 1 sugar per serving. But it does contain Acesulflame K in it. In the morning when adding whey (10grams) to my coffee will this cause a insulin spike? If so, do I need to go with something else until after workout? Or is this not enough to spike insulin?Thanks... Sorry for being the new guy blowing up the "new threads"
If you are just using 10g of protein in it it shouldn't matter to much.I'd go ahead and use it and if you start to plateau then you might need to cut it out.
YES it will spike insulin! I did a lot of research on Gold Standard and ON products. 1.) There are 5.5 grams of BCAA's knocking you out of fat burning 2.) Sugar Alcohol and artificial sweeteners. 3.) Random ingredients that I have no idea what they were. So if you did the prep phase with the Gold Standard then your probably going to have to do it again. Sorry
BCAA's aren't added, it's just the amino acid profile.Using a small amount a long with fat shouldn't cause much harm, hence the 10g.Using a full serving of any whey would cause a rise in insulin (25-30g), but that's why we don't use a full serving outside of PWO/backload.
