Hi, my name is Roman. I just bought the CBL book a few days ago, and have read through it once. I'll probably have to read it a few more times to get everything right, though. I'm starting my prep phase on Monday, and I'm thinking it's going to be pretty grueling for me. I think I can make it though.I just started lifting about 8 months ago with the Stronglifts 5x5 program, and I'm pretty pleased with my results so far. Since then, I've went through some Smolov Jr. for my bench, which absolutely SUCKS by the way, and have done some Madcow 5x5. I'm currently 6'1 at about 228lbs, with a great deal of body fat around my mid section. I hate cardio, but love to lift, so CBL seems like my kind of thing. My current 1RM for my lifts are: Squat - 365lbs, Dead - 435lbs, Bench - 245lbs, OHP -  150lbs. Not too bad for having never lifted before in my life, and only 8 months in.  🙂My goals are to really lose a lot of fat and improve my lifts at the same time. I've measured using some calipers, and they say I'm around 28%, though all of my fat is around my mid section. Hardly any on my legs or arms. I really want to Squat about 450, dead 500, and bench 315. It'll be a while, but I'm confident I can get there.

Thanks for the welcome. I just started today. Haven't eaten anything yet, but I'm approaching that 5 hour mark and I'm getting hungry, lol.

Welcome to DHYou have some good 1RM's for only 8 months lifting!  You said you're around 28% BF... have you thought about doing the Carb Nite Solution?  I started with Carb Nite and actually got stronger, set some new PR's (405 squat) while burning body fat like it was job!  All other exercises i was able to maintain strength until switching to CBL.  Their is a lot of good information on these forums so read up!  LOL

I thought about it and looked into it, but the lack of gains on the lifts is what made me want to just delve right into CBL. I'm not as worried about losing the fat as quickly as possible as I am getting stronger. I'm sure that using the SA method in CBL will get me the results I want as efficiently as possible. Thank you for the suggestion though.I'm on day 3 now, and I really want some carbs, lol. My 10th day is July 4th, so I'm going to tear some nasty ass food up that night.  ;D
