peritoMemberHey everyone – just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.Current Stats:Height: 6'Weight: 215lbsApprox BF%: 25%I "currently" a reluctant owner of a gut and pair-o-moobs and lookingto rectify that situation now. As for programming, I did a little diggingand it seems as if CN is the best choice for me at this time until I lean upa bit. My only question as far as that goes is: I heard Kiefer mention that the CN book was out of date and was thinking about updating it.Knowing that I am currently doing kettlebell work mixed with bodyweight exercises, is the book (CN) still valid or should that be left to the "soccer moms" (no offense if any are reading this)?Again, noting that my goal is to hang on to the muscle I have now and drop the pudge.I am open to CBL - but it seems as the general notion is that might be better suited to "leaner" people. Thoughts?

Lasse ElsbakParticipantWelcome!Following the CNS book should get you where you want to go, but if you read a bit here on the forum you can find some additional info to help you. Most of the stuff you can find here comes from Kiefers later work - the CNS book is a bit outdated.

peritoMemberThanks – seems fair enough. I guess I have my work cut out for me then!

Welcome!Yes CNS is the right choice for your, given the above information you provided. There are some specifics that are out of date, but nothing to be concerned with just yet if you haven't already been on CNS. So you are doing kettlebell work and bodyweight work.... do you have access to a gym or do you do this elsewhere? Just wanted to mention, you will yield greater results by doing resistance training if you haven't already thought about it.

peritoMemberI do have a gym membership and not foreign to the resistance training at all. My challenge at this point is ability to actually get to the gym. I've recently taken on a new job that has an hour+ commute each way. So I leave pretty early in the AM so I can get back home to be with the family at night. Either way – the bodyweight/kb training is something I can do during lunch at work during the time allotted. Thanks again for the reply!

i have a family i get home to as well also so i can understand schedule is important. Even 2/3 days a week with basic compound movements (some type of bench press, squat or deadlift) and heavy weight would greatly accelerate your results, even tho the diet alone will work. just something to think about.Cheers!
