I read the whole book once and went over the broad-strokes another time over, but am still stuck on the pasta issue.  There is one small chapter saying 'backload on all carbs except pasta'.  I find this weak and was wondering if anyone CBLs with pasta and has had success, or if there are noodles out there (besides rice noodles) that would work. Also, there wasn't anything specific regarding how long prior to bed to stop feasting.  There is talk about junk food being processed quicker to allow HGH to do its magic, but nothing prescribing a time to end.Guidance is much appreciated (I'm two days into the 10 day cleanse)

Pasta is a big no. It's quite slow digesting and there's much better alternatives such as white rice and white potatoes. You feast for 4-6 hours, most people eat right up until bed time until they pass out. Personally I stop about 90 minutes before bedtime to allow my insulin levels to drop so that my GH levels aren't affected when I go to sleep.

Also, it contains gluten, which Kiefer advises against eating – see page 174 (chapter 48 – Gluten allergies):"Pasta is low glycemic, which disqualifies it right there, but it’s also primarily wheat, which might present an even bigger problem. About 50% of people have some sort of adverse intestinal reaction to gluten, which wheat contains in abundance[1]. A couple of different types of allergies exist, but regardless of type, the reaction is the same: bloating, discomfort and decreased nutrient absorption."As webby said, stick to clean, fast-digesting carb sources, or indulge in the junk food (pasty products, etc) if you're so inclined.Hope this helps.Edited: Also just spotted this post from Naomi:http://dangerouslyhardcore.com/forum/index.php?topic=544.0

+1.  With a high spike in insulin comes a fast drop as well, which will induce a greater GH release.  IF you are dead set having pasta, go for the gluten free rice pasta, which is basically white rice and therefore witin the guidelines on CBL.

The podcast yesterday 7/10/12 he answered someone's similar question about oatmeal.  Same response, not only does it not spike the insulin as we are trying to do, but it can fill you up also. He said it will slow results and it is doing the program half-a****. As to when to stop feasting, the exact time requires experimenting.  Kiefer said very large muscular people such as himself can gorge themselves until they fall asleep (with a turnover in hand).  The book seems to indicate just get in the amount, didn't see a timeline.  Some on the forum say 6 hour window.A good and bad about the diet is it requires the participant to notice and adjust.

Appreciate all the input.  I think I'm just going to turn to Gluten-free pasta (Quinoa base or rice) if/when I have that craving. Another thing that isn't mentioned in the book is when to do HIIT.  I train 3 days a week MWF and was going to throw in HIIT on T/Th along with a medicine ball circuit.  Would I still back-load on the T/Th to prepare for the following day's training, or not back-load as hard since there wasn't hardcore resistance training?  Just as a point of reference, I do explosive movements with the medicine ball at first and then move onto core maintenance.

The official and safe answer is you only backload after heavy resistance training.  (morning workouts are a different animal which I don't do and don't pay attention to)Kiefer has implied in the podcast he has another thing possibly coming.I do a small backload after sprinting hard, but that is experimental.
