dudsyMemberHello all,New to the forum and CBL. Im wondering if anyone uses this protocol while training BJJ/grappling? I did a quick search and found that it was not recommended to back load after bjj but what im interested in is how this diet affects your energy levels when rolling on the mats?I would imagine that you would go ULC during the day (btw im training at 5.30pm for 1.5hrs). I have used a low carb style diet before (not quite CBL i know) and found it left me flat and tired after a few minutes of rolling. From reading other sources (Juggernaut) it is recommended to consume liquid carbs during training to increase your work capacity. For those who do train BJJ and CBL how do you successfully combine the two?

Damon AmatoParticipantcheck out my log, that client is a taekwondo master who trains BJJ twice a week, muai thai once a week, spars all three saturday morning, and teaches taekwondo all day while on CNS. If you're backloading, depends on your training schedule to maximize energy during training and also strength gains.

Thanks i will take a look. Other than that it seems like no-one here trains BJJ and uses CBL?

AciDMemberI do and my friend does.ULC day - getting a little sleepy before training about 7p.m. but energy on training is incomparable with time before backloading. And if you train only BJJ just keep it moderate to low carb, depending on what you feel.I backload only after gym, mats are all-day ULC.Cheers!

Damon AmatoParticipantI should've said I train BJJ also, as well as taekwondo. Energy is good on CNS, even better while on CBL.
