Warmup ?

    Before working out what do you do ? Jump into warm up sets or static stretching ? Ballistic? Someone point me in a direction

    Dynamic warm ups moving the joints I'll be using and some foam rolling is most of what I do.I also do some ramp up sets on my compound movements before I start to prep the CNS for the weight.

    I just do warmup sets.  I never got the point of dynamic warmups, they don't do anything for me.

    I generally only do them with leg day, I have really tight hips to it helps for squatting.I agree that the best warm up you can do it some warm up sets of your main move.

    +1 I can just about jump into to any workout, except leg day. My hips take forever to loosen up

    Okay thank god I thought I was the only weird person who jumped into warmup sets but leg days I need to really warmup , leg swings loosen my hips up

    I just do 1-2 warmpup sets, usually until I feel that my body is moving smoothly and my muscles already contracted strong enough (maximum acceleration etc).

    When I was at a gym, I used the "yes"/"no" machines to loosen up on leg days, those work really well. Now that I workout at home, lots of leg swings and whatnot.
