RoaringMad MacMemberHello everyone. My name is Kevin. Aka RoaringMad MacI am from Alabama and have been doing alot of reading on both the Carb nite solution and Carb back loading Here is my dilemma. I just recently purchased the Carb nite solution book and now reading it. However. Being the fact that I am 430 lb s when my weight used to be around 300 competing. Injuries ( not weight room related) and several surgeries later I have finished rehab and in the past couple of months I have lost about 50 lbs with regular diet and exercise but I want to go further . Yes. I was up to 500 lbs. what I want to know is which do you think is better for me to follow even though I am in the gym everyday busting my ass. I train with two other bodybuilders alot younger than me so hard work is not out of the question. I'm just kinda at a crossroads as to what I should be following. The carb nite solution or carb back loading

Richard SchmittModeratorWelcome Kevin! Now first off congrats on losing the 50lbs! Second I'm sure you've heard of Mark Bell and Jesse Burdick? Well Kiefer put them both on CNS and they dropped a ton of weight while the increased in strength. You'll have to work with it because you don't want to blow out your Central Nervous System and not be able to lift to your max because of not recovering. If you feel like CNS is honestly not the way to go for you then try CBL Strength Accumulation from the CBL book. Gain strength while losing body fat

raisethebarbellGuestWilling to tone down weight room activity = carb nite (best fat loss down to about 10%)Not willing to tone it down = CBL (real good fat loss plus typical program ability)Just my opinion, I am down about 45 lbs. Had to do carb nites every 4 to 5 days (rogue) to keep my program going, otherwise I would crap out too often...Maybe start with Carb Nite, see how you feel. If not good, switch right over to CBL. This would save you needing to re-do a prep phase... Good luck!

RoaringMad MacMemberThanks for the quick responses and yes I know those two gentlemen as well. Have met them several times one good thing is I'm not competitively powerlifting anymore. I pretty much train these other two guys that are trying to compete in bodybuilding. I'm 40 and they are 26. I'm just getting stuck with traditional diet methods and this really caught my eye. I will continue to follow the CNS program. I have until next Wednesday for my carb-nite so I'm looking forward to it. been ultra low carbing it for since Saturday and Monday was a grueling leg day and it did not bother me at all. but I will keep a check on the way I feel.Again thanks for the response and I will be around this site as well.
