Just finished reading the book and it looks great!!But one thing I wonder about:He suggests high glycemic carbs to spike insulin for a short period, so that it returns to baseline soon and de secretion of gh is not interfered. But fat and protein changes the glycemic index of a meal and the speed of metabolizing all the food right?I dont get it.... So who helps me out here?

😀 how it works… Does it matter in the whole proces?!If "healthy" carbs dont Spike the insulin enough, will it be enough when adding p&f to a fast carb meal?

No one?It is true that adding fat or protein to a meal, slows down the whole process and decreases the 'glycemic loading' of a meal right??

Consuming fat with carbs will reduce the intensity of the insulin spike, but it will mean that insulin is released for a longer period of time.So whilst consuming carbs alone will create a bigger (but shorter duration) insulin response, consuming fat with the carbs will create a smaller (but longer duration) insulin response and the total amount of insulin released will be greater than when consuming carbs alone. You will see this referred to as the 'area under the curve'.CheersMacca

That's why it is preferred to start your backloads (or CN”s to a lesser extent) low fat, then as the night progresses being more cavalier with your food choices
