pshannonMemberAs you guys know, or should know, I am working with Meadows now. As you also should know I haven't dont shit for cardio in the past 3 months. So this PAINS me to say, but Meadows wants me to start doing HIIT 4 days a week. I know I know. The reasons are he's upping my calories (especially carbs), so he is trying to boost my metabolism. So i need some advice from all yinz. Heres what my training looks like. Monday: Off Tuesday: Back (6:00pm)Wednesday: Off Thursday: Arms (6:00pm) Friday: OffSaturday: Legs (10:00am)Sunday: Chest/Shoulder (10:00am) So where should I put the HIIT? I'm going to do it, and I know all the reasons why I shouldn't, so can we just discuss why and when it would be the best. Thanks in advance dudes!

BenjaminDMemberFour sessions of HIIT sounds brutal! But I'd probably throw it down like this:Monday: HIIT (whenever)Tuesday: Back (6:00pm)Wednesday: HIIT (whenever) Thursday: HIIT (AM) Arms (6:00pm) Friday: OffSaturday: Legs (10:00am)Sunday: Chest/Shoulder (10:00am) HIIT (PM)It might suck and be tiring but you can't escape having to do it two days in a row.. At least you will still have a full day of rest before training legs on Saturday.

bbuchanMemberMan 4 days of HIIT, thats brutal! I don't envy you haha, but ya I don't see any better way than what was posted above. I don't know if your gonna wanna be doing HIIT the morning after legs though, but if you didn't do it that way you would either not have any full rest days or you would be doing HIIT like 4 days in a row. Hard to fit it all in unless you went to a 3 day lifting split. Seems like the above recommendation is best however.

If you're going "Mountain Dog", does this mean you'll be leaving us? LOL.As for the HIIT, I'd do it like so:Monday: HIITTuesday: Back (6:00pm)Wednesday: HIITThursday: Arms (6:00pm), then HIITFriday: OffSaturday: Legs (10:00am)Sunday: Chest/Shoulder (10:00am), then HIITTry to avoid doing it on or directly before Leg day, and keep one day of full rest a week (i.e., Friday - above).Cory

j40gallGuestJust out of curiosity, is it the increased level of carbs that is to boost your metabolism, the 4 HIIT sessions, or a combination of both? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated as I am doing a similar thing myself an understanding the exact benefits is always beneficial? Many thanks.
