working out in the prep phase

    Hello, I have a quick question. I started the prep phase of carb back loading today. I lifted and after I took one scoop of muscle milk along with monster amino. I also ate a can of chicken. That had 1 carb and a good bit of protein. The muscle milk had 9 carbs. will eating this as a post workout meal mess me up during my prep phase? Thank you in advance

    As long as it doesn't take you over the 30g daily limit, it's most likely fine. BUT1. Kiefer has stated that none of your meals should exceed 10g carbs, and you are very close. 2. The people who get the best results are usually the ones who are as close to 0g carbs per day as possible.(Counterpoint: PWO you handle carbs differently, and may be able to get away with more than you would otherwise do)So depending on genetics and prior diets, you might be setting yourself up for failure.

    +1. I'd nix the muscle milk during prep because of the carbs. It'll be fine to take post workout once you start backloading

    Agreed with the other guys.Honestly, I nix the muscle milk completely, it's a pretty trashy protein.

    so what exactly should i be eating after my lifting days during the prep phase? Just Tuna and chicken?

    Whey isolate/hydrolise mix + 5g creatine + 5 g lecucine … I think (newbie here!)

    I just took 1-2 scoops of the whey concentrate I already had during my prep post-workout.  That and the creatine.

    I too worked out in my Prep Phase, i just used the PWO like Kiefer says in the Book but kept the Carbs out. That should be ok 🙂 But holy smokes i regret buying 2kg of Casein Hydrolysate – thats one of the foulest stuff i ever “ate”.
