So I'm taking Isopure zero carb protein for the ULC portion of my day and while I can bear it, I want to see if there are better options. Is the ON Gold Standard 100% Whey ok for ULC periods? A full serving only has three carbs. I am not close to hitting 30g of carbs. If ON is ok will there be a noticeable change in my results compared to Isopure zero carb?Edit: Just saw the it contains hydrolyzed isolates. I guess I just answered my question (no)!

Stay away from whey in meals or to be used in for meals. Keep for PWO Shakes only.

As Tex said, try to keep away from it.  It spikes insulin.  You might try Casein or a bio-available plant protein (like Pea), which do not spike insulin anymore than a typical protein-rich meal.  That is, if you MUST use a powder (for occassional convenience or dietary reasons, for instance).  Try to get your protein from whole food sources. That said, ON's 100% Whey (Gold Standard) is a good quality product, BUT it is a blend w/ concentrates.  Concentrates are cheap.  Pure isolates are a bit more expensive, but you are better off purchasing a full isolate... check the labels, companies like sneaking $h1t in.Isopure isolate is a good one, as is Dymatize Iso 100 (which is relatively inexpensive) -- just be careful, Dymatize also makes one called Whey Isolate, but it is actually a blend (check the label).  Another would be Now Sports Whey Isolate (which is natural), About Time whey isolate (also natural), or Collagen Sport whey isolate (also natural), etc.Natural is best, b/c it eliminates the artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, etc.  It is best just not putting that chemical $h1t in your body.  Tends to use natural flavors, and the low-carb / carb-free products use xylitol or stevia for sweetening.Cory

I have a small shake every day to have something to mix my creatine and coconut oil in.  I switched from ON to isopure and back to ON.  I see no difference.  But I'm only using 10g of protein, I dunno how much you plan on using.
