Stan v SlashKeymasterHi all,I am day 6 of the prep phase and I am trying to get the details sorted before I introduce the back loads. Currently I train. Monday at 6pmWednesday at 6pmFriday at 6pm Sunday at 10am. My question relates to the Sunday back load. It's my understanding reading the CBL book that I have a full back load following my Sunday workout and then continue to eat Low carb for the rest of the day until the back load following my Monday workout, since monday will be training in the evening and not a morning workout. Is my understanding correct? Or should the back load on Sunday be smaller since I am not training at the optimal time? Finally, since I have a Sunday workout in the morning then I can have a small back load (or least carb meal or 2) on Saturday evening in order to get a bigger insulin response following my Sunday workout. Is this correct? Thanks in advance.

Full backload no, not correct. If you want to do a backload after Sunday's routine then have some dextrose or a brown molted banana (1-2). You'll need about 50-60g worth of high spiking insulin carbs. However, you could just stay ULC the entire day and have just whey, leucine, and creatine in your PWO Shake to get a good hypertrophic signal along with continued fat loss for the day. Then yes, you'll backload in the evenigns again starting Monday. Is my understanding correct? Or should the back load on Sunday be smaller since I am not training at the optimal time? Look at above for answer. Finally, since I have a Sunday workout in the morning then I can have a small back load (or least carb meal or 2) on Saturday evening in order to get a bigger insulin response following my Sunday workout. Is this correct? You can do a small clean backload for the next mornings session. Example, good protein/carb dinner low in fat, then have a dessert an hour (maybe less) later. Nothing major like a normal backload would be like. Thanks in advance.

A full backload in the morning is not Backloading. And you'll gain fat if you do so. Insulin is sensitive in the mornings thus why we fast during the morning with no carbs. Basically explains it in the book.

Stan v SlashGuestCheers. The line "immediately after the morning training, therefore, things remain the same as if training at the ideal time, including the carbs: the post training formula is identical" Is causing me the confusion. As I read that as you slam the carbs as per normal. Since my next workout on the Monday is an evening workout.

Goran NovakovicMemberFrom what I understood:If you workout in the morning, you have your Post Workout meal/shake with the Carbs, then you eat Low carb until the evening where you have another meal with carbs.

Stan v SlashGuestI took you only have the evening carbs if you have another AM fasted workout the next day.
