carlos valenciaMemberHow many days are you backloading? Are you doing Shockwave training? I assume that, with a 5 day split and backloading on your second consecutive off-day, you are backloading 6 days a week. That looks a lot like density bulking. You may want to cut one or two of the backloads out and see how that goes for you.

I can see at least one thing Kiefer has against Glutamine, now. Very interesting.I haven't had a problem on CNS, and I do supp w/ 20g of L-Glutamine on training days (10g pre / 10g post workout). Reading this has me thinking...Any thoughts on this? Anyone else want to contribute more re: L-Glutamine? What is, possibly, too much?Cory
What benefits have you gotten from taking Glutamine? I tried a similar approach to you and did not notice any benefits... So chose to save the money.

DreamCrusherMemberI've gone from 210 to 222 in 4 weeks. I know that about 6-8lbs is water weight and some is muscle but my gut is also growing, something I did not want. The book says baseline carbs should be around 250, and have been hitting and some days exceed. I wanted to try and experiment with higher carbs but I haven't reached that tightness and/or weightloss.8pm-maybe chicken or steak with 2 cups white rice and pastry12am-Last Meal-Half of pizza, or Carne Asada fries, In-n-out, Chipotle burrito with a pastryResistance train 5x a week, hypertrophy range 10-12 reps plus rest-pause at end of last setI wanna be able to lose weight and gain some mass, if it's possible.Any questions, comments, concerns, criticism is welcome.
This is a lot to eat in a backload, especially if your eating 2 cups of white rice. Thats ALREADY around 80 grams of carbs. Not to mention your POST workout shake. I would NOT try your upper limit of carbs, because its obvious that you can not handle that many. What BF are you at?BF is 20% If your higher 20% and above I would really really say just have the 2 cups of Rice with protein, and then maybe a desert later in the night. Your not in a position to really backload with shit constantly. I think your body is telling you that. Your eating like a fat kid and asking why your getting fatHaHa, I will change it up.

DreamCrusherMemberI think the main thing you have to look at recalibrating then adjusting from there. You are going ULC on non training days correct?I would try eating some cleaner foods so you still feel full yet the amount of carbs will be less compared to junk food. If you are keeping track of carbs I would suggest cutting the carbs in half, running that for a couple weeks, and assessing from there. Chances are you will be losing weight or it will level off. If you are losing weight at that time, try adding in 50 carbs to you backload, and see if the weight keeps dropping. All in all it will take some time to find what your most optimal level is, even if you followed the books recommendations to the letter. Once you find it you will be able to adjust accordingly to your goals.
Sounds like a solid plan, I will adjust next Monday and will go from there.

DreamCrusherMemberI believe Keifer has said that he likes Jack3d and stated that the amount of Ace-K in it is not enough to spike insulin. It's in a podcast I think but I remember him talking specifically about it, an older one with Naomi in it.
Fair enough, then. Looks like DreamCrusher is fine using Jack3d. That said, personal preference, I like mixing my own raws... then, I can tweak ingredients, their amounts, quality, etc.Been doing this for years, and it is easier on the wallet, b/c you buy in bulk. The only downfall is the wretched natural taste of some of the powders. In time, you learn to pinch your nose, and ingest. Imagination helps a bit, too.Cory
I agree, you can't really control the quality, amounts, etc but my stomach can't tolerate the raw ingredients, that's why I just try to stay with the commercial stuff.
