guitarjonParticipantI'm really curious how water depletion and sodium manipulation could be used with CBL in terms of getting prepped for a photo shoot or getting on stage. Before I decided to start CBL a few weeks ago I'd been planning on trying out the water depletion and messing with my sodium intake once I finished cutting. I still don't feel like I fully understand how to do it though. Can anybody help me out with that?

I have a guide on it at home, not with me right now (@ work). Typically, you will do it the last week leading to a contest. It is something like a few days off, then slowly re-introduce into the show. If done right, you will look full and hard.Remember, if you're doing a show or shoot, you will also need to consider diuretics to rid yourself of the sub-cutaneous water blurring the last bit of definition, and be at your dryest. You can go chemical or natural, clearly chemical is more potent, but also has greater risk of sides (and may not be 'legal' for your show).Natural includes supps like Dandelion.Cory

Simple version:1. Stop training legs 7-10 days out.2. ULC 7-3 days out from show.3. Sodium loading 7-3 days out from show. Drink at least 1L-2L / h2O day.4. Perform glycogen depletion workouts, with 3-4x10-12 reps for all muscle groups; other than legs.5. 3 days out from show, switch to distilled h2O. Drink at least 2-3L / day up until morning of show.6. 3-2 days out from show, begin Back Loading (clean carb sources would be best; no sodium; optimal window and amount depends on individual). Workouts would be shorter, possibly just a few exercises to stimulate tGLUT.7. Depending upon how you look in the AM, I would judge whether you should keep loading CHO throughout day or not (1-2 days from show).8. Day of show depending on how you look is how you would continue to eat CHO or not...again individualistic. Honestly I would just go for it. By that time it's really too late to make improvements anyways.A lot of this will be based on how certain individuals will hold water, but those are the generic guidelines.

This is awesome! I'm doing a bit of a reprep next week so I suppose that's as good a time as any to try it out!

No, you can have as much water as you want. The idea is to keep fluids coming so you're always excreting fluid. Some people like to restrict water toward the end prep period, but I find it's rather dangerous and should only be done if you're holding a lot of water the night before. It takes a while to get to know your body and what works best for you. These are general guidelines, that need to be prepped and applied before a shoot/show so that you know what is going to happen with your body. Also, load with foods that you know what the effects are going to be. If you don't know what your body is going to do by eating a couple sweet potatoes, it's not the right time to try them the night before a show, etc. Can you be a bit more specific about sodium loading? Increase sodium in the diet. Add salt to your food. Eat more sodium rich foods. Eggs are loaded with sodium as are many other foodstuffs.4. Also, you can add in diuretics, if you're holding a lot of excess water. I've always had good results with taraxatone. But others work well too.

guitarjonParticipantAlso, if I'm doing 1-2 HIIT sessions a week, should I keep that up during this period Or cut it out?

Scenario: You are trying to prepare for a photo shoot, so earlier in the week you perform HIIT to increase (glycogen depletion); however, when you're trying to load glycogen depletion is it a good idea to use up the energy that you're muscles are storing 3-2 days out from a show?
