guitarjonParticipantI'm still unsure about what I should take, if anything after 30 mins HIIT (sprint intervals) while on the prep phase. I'm not going to end up finishing the session until very close to the 14 hour mark in my fast, at which point I'll definitely need to get something in my stomach. Basically, since I'm unsure, I'm just going to go ahead and break the fast with coffee and coconut oil, and just to be on the safe side I'll put no more than half a scoop of whey (concentrate, not ideal, but I need to use it up) in with it. Timing sucks today so I might even end up having a few sips before I start the HIIT session. It's not the best plan but I'm getting paranoid about going past the 14 hour mark. If anyone could clear this up for me that would be awesome.

FairyGuestI think it's 10 g leucine before HIIT

5g. And from the recent Flex magazine, an article by Kiefer puts a good recipe for getting that stage/contest body. Take 5g Leucine prior to HIIT. 30 seconds high resistance followed by 4 minutes easy resistance. 4-6 bouts. An hour later do a high-volume based training routine. 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off. Routine is called ANAC=Anabolic Cardio.

Is this relevant for ULC days?

Richard SchmittModeratorNo. I said it was for an hour before a high volume based training routine.

So if I do decide to do HIIT on an offday, would it be necessary to supplement with protein before or after, if at all? I only have whey concentrate atm so I reluctant to use it at all on ULC days.

Not online, I tried looking for it. However, I'm still waiting on the "ok" to type it all out. I don't mind typing out the "speed" version on it.

MJCMemberHey Tex, is that 5 grams of leucine pre HIIT confirmed?

Richard SchmittModeratorHey Tex, is that 5 grams of leucine pre HIIT confirmed?
It was written from Kiefer himself, so I assume so. Just on days with an hour rest prior to lifting.

thrownullpointerMemberpretty sure on ULC you don't take leucine at all due to insulin spikes… Not sure if that cleared up anything for anyone
