jk71KeymasterHey guys! Been researching a bit and decided to make the plunge. I am 40 years old, been training since I was 15. Was lifting pretty heavy weights until kids and injuries accumulated. I got down to pretty ripped, but was way too skinny. Now I am just skinny fat 🙂 I recently had a shoulder injury (all set now thanks to Eric Cressey), so I lost some mass in the pic below. I am 6'3″ and 190 here. I train in the AM, and I think the best bet would be to use the Strength Accumulation mode? Then perhaps build on top of that?Currently doing 4 day upper/lower/upper.lower split, and then have an extra day of sled sprinting .Looking forward to meeting you all

FairyGuestHey 🙂 Welcome. Just from having a quick look at your photo, I'd like to see you go after more muscle mass rather than worrying about fat at the moment.

jk71GuestHey 🙂 Welcome. Just from having a quick look at your photo, I'd like to see you go after more muscle mass rather than worrying about fat at the moment.
Thanks everyone! Fairy- I am all for that! I just got the book today, and am pouring thru the info. One thing is that I lift at 5AM, and I thought I read the Density was harder for the AM workout routine. I am going away for the weekend and will put my questions together. I am not going to stress though, as I realize the tweaks are for maximum results. You think I should do the prep phase?

FairyGuestI think it's worth doing the prep phase to avoid fat gain. Maybe you need a hybrid of the two

BlestMemberHey jk…I read your post and think we have pretty similar situations… I'm also from boston and ideally like to workout in the morning. I just bought the book and want to start in the next week or so when I get my shopping done. Please keep in touch with how you are doing and what you decided to go with.Good luck Scott

jk71GuestScott – nice to meet you. I am a little torn as I have that belly fat I want to get rid of but have to put some mass back on. The other thing is that I am starting a new job as an EVP of Product this week, Nd don't want to be zonked out with no carbs. I have been thru that before and my work is more important than a 6 packWhere are you? I am in Winchester

BlestMemberNice to meet u too.. I am in malden. I actually just went through a 30 day 6 pack abs diet and work out plan (I am actually heading into 3rd month) from muscle and fitness mag. I am def seein results but I am down to about 152 right now. I am afraid if I do the prep phase I am going to get way to skinny. I work construction so I def need energy too. 2 people on the forum replied to a post I wrote saying I should do it. I still have to go out and get all the right protein mixes (I found one called Nitrean that is almost exactly what they give for PWO shake) so have a few days to think about it. What gym do you work out at? Good luck win new job!

jk71Guesthey guys, after a weekend of vacation and eating poorly, my belly is not in good shape. For that reason, I will go SA for 1-2 months. Even my wife noticed a little, which makes me realize that I just like being shredded/4-6 pack. And I think using that as a starting point for bulking will be better than the state that I am in. I will start a new SA log with some questions nowthanks everyone!
