OMFG!! I thought i was the only one that saw this a couple days ago. Unless that glove can increase protein synthesis i don't know why they are saying it's better than steroids. Those people lost their damn mind! Plus it's the size of a goalie's hockey glove!

jsmithMemberthere's a link at the bottom of that page that leads to an article that goes into greater depth on why it works. It also mentions them eventually selling these commercially. I would definitely be interested in something like this.

TheDanParticipantI was wondering when a product based on this research would surface. I read an article about it approx 2 years ago ( i think in flex but can't remember exactly ) Basically it said that by cooling the hands core temp would lower and strength would increase. I tested the theory for 3 weeks holding a simple cooling pack ( maybe not as effective as this glove ) for a few minutes before benching. It did increase strength slightly 10-15 lbs on my max. But to say it is AS EFFECTIVE as steroids 😮 ill believe it when i see it.

jsmithMemberaccording to the link i read. there is some kind of threshold where if your hand gets colder than that then the blood vessels will close up and youll just be left with cold hands. probably said that all wrong but read this. http://news.stanford.edu/news/2012/august/cooling-glove-research-082912.html

TheDanParticipantOk so when i read ” better than steroids” I immediately thought hypertrophy. I guess they are talking about performance, that is a little more plausible but what happens when your core temp is restored to normal? Does it really make you stronger or is it a quick fix for people who want to perform well only sometimes. It is definitely an interesting study / product but if i see someone rocking one at my gym any time soon i am still going to call them a pussy. ;D( Jokingly of course, i really don't care how others conduct their workout ) Furthermore you would think that when applied to lifting this could cause some major joint injuries ( structural )Im not completely bashing this i think the science behind it is awesome but i also think that something like this should be regulated in contest/sports if it ever becomes mainstream. That is just my 2cents.

How so? im not disagreeing, just dont understand. It was mentioned something like this could be used to prevent hyperthermia also. summer sport practices could definately benefit i would think.
