Alcohol yes will "fuck" things up. Pretty much won't gain muscle, fat loss will halt or be very difficult, probably look horrible the next day and feel like crap for a while as well. Personally, if someone is "dieting" why would anyone ask a question in regards to drinking. Normally it's look not looked upon as an "ok" thing to do without consequences.

Brandon D ChristParticipantAlcohol may or may not impede fat loss, it is a highly individual thing. Try it out and see how you do. However, I would drink only on backload nights, as per Kiefer's suggestion. Also, I wouldn't binge because it can destroy you testosterone for up to six days. Just drink to be social (like 5 drinks or so) and the damage will be very minimal and if you are under 30 practically nonexistent. THe only alcohol I would avoid is sugary mixed drinks (beer is fine) because the fructose will be out of control. Whenever you backload that night it would probably be best to consume low fat and non sugary carbs to minimize the fat storage that will occur.

Lasse ElsbakParticipantIf you are doing low carb at the moment, I would actually recommend going a few days high carb just so you can use the delta chart. If you've consistently been very low (>30-50), I would just go ahead and backload now.

CainoParticipantone day till prep phase, just seeing if anyone out there is has had the same situation, would it be wise to try and throw as much water weight on and eat junk before so there is a difference in the Delta chart??
