Hey all. I've posted on the forums elsewhere already and received great advice, so thank you!I'm a professional geek in the Seattle area and I have been increasingly heavy since an ACL surgery back in 2001. I used to be active and pretty fit, but that became more and more difficult with weird work hours and lots of bad food.My beautiful bride and I had a conversation about our marriage. She let me know that she still loved me but no longer found me attractive. I wasn't surprised. I had reached the inauspicious achievement of weighing over 300 pounds (310, in fact) and I knew how bad I looked. I felt worse. That conversation, and a very mobile 1-year-old daughter, made it clear that I needed to take action.I enrolled in a weight-loss challenge at the gym and was doing tons of cardio and high-volume strength training. For all the flaws, the program did a lot to get me moving and I lost 5% of my body fat while putting on 7 pounds of lean tissue in the first month. Then, of course, the progress stalled. (I now think it only worked as well as it did because I ignored the trainer's diet advice, mostly due to the inconvenience and hassle.)I did keep off the weight I lost but I wanted more. Fortunately through a curious series of links I found out from Sean Hyson about Carb Nite. I read the forums, bought the book, listened to the podcasts, and decided to jump in. I'm planning to have my body fat tested again at the end of the cycle. I started at 37.5%. However, my wife and I have already seen fantastic results and I can't wait to see where this goes. I'm looking forward to learning more from all of you and being able to help others progress.
