ChrisMMAKeymasterI have been on the carb nite diet since July25.I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu up to twice a day: M-F 11am, M-Th 7:30pm (teaching) and Sunday at 9am. My training right now is not what I would call “high intensity”, mostly drills and “moderately intense” rolling. I have no problem getting through my workouts but I do experience some muscle fatigue toward the end of the week but that is not the big problem. The big problem is that I have not dropped any weight after the first 10 days. My starting weight on 7/25 was 224 at 30% body fat (measured by a NIR machine) As of 8/11 I am down to 218 and that’s where I am at today.Coffee in the morning with coconut butterEggs and bacon for bracketsStake or Pork for lunch and dinner Some cottage chess and flax seed oilDrink diet Snapple and water My only workout is BJJ at this timeBefore workouts I take Shroom Tech by Onnit.com Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best,

I would ditch the snapple, replace the cottage cheese with a fatty cut of meat, make sure you are getting a 1:1 ratio of fat and protein, based on your BF% assuming its close to accurate, I would say consume no more than 150g protein and 150g fat per day, hence 1:1 ratio, and last but not least maybe see your doctor to make sure you don't have any underlying medical conditions that maybe hindering you fat loss, e.g. Thyroid etc. without knowing the exact amounts of the above foods your eating it's hard to determine how much you're actually consuming, it still is possible that depending on the amount of food, your either eating too much protein not enough fat, which is causing your body to burn protein for energy, or you maybe consuming too much calories period, with not a big enough deficit.I would take a hard look at the exact amounts of foods you're eating and at least for a week or two keep close watch on the grams of fat and protein and carbs to get a rough idea. I agree with Kiefer that counting calories can be unnecessary to a point, but I also believe that for any one experienced with tracking their food, it's easier to say that than someone else who maybe over or underestimates their food intake unknowingly. Not sure where you fall on the spectrum, but when i get stuck, the first thing I do is go to the basics and see where I'm screwing up.Something that is beyond my knowledge that maybe someone else might know, is if maybe doing too much "cardio" type excercise which IMO BJJ could fall under, might in someone be over taxing your body and causing you to some how halt fat loss. But this is just a wild guess.

CmoMemberEw, don't you sweat out 10 lbs of water each class? My husband comes home drenched in sweat from BJJ. And not just his own. Gross. Drenched in sweat and bruised. Good times.

I eat a little more than half of what you are suggesting. It looks like I have been eating too little. I am never hungry so I will need to force my self to eat more. I will post the results in a week or two. Thanks
