Big_RParticipantDid anyone see at the bottom of one of Kiefer's articles where he said that birth control hormones *are* steroids...?I'm on about 0.5ng/ml of progesterone per day, which is a steroid, and have been for five years (implant in my arm). I'm just wondering what the implications of this might be?
i always refer to muscle building steroids as "performance enhancers" or juice.... to avoid confusion. steroids can describe a zillion different things without specifying

+1Anything supplemental hormone is a steroid (regardless of delivery). Even some of the products classified as Prohormones, before the PH band, were technically steroids... like Methyl-1-Testosterone, even Superdrol (Methasterone). No conversion necessary.Proper prohormones, like 19-Nor Tren, are not the parent hormone. They convert in the body to the parent hormone, like in 19-Nor's case, right into Nandrolone.Cory

FairyGuestIt is a "steroid" hormone, technically speaking. The "pregnancy" hormone. From what I read, it can reduce sodium-retention in women, which in turn can lessen the chances of a 'pump'. Most of what it does is centered around the reproductive system (like increased thermogenesis during ovulation, regulating effects of estrogen, reducing the risk of cancer in the uterine lining). If you have specific worries, definitely ask your prescribing doctor.
Cory, you know doctors don't have a clue about half of the drugs they're prescribing. I was on another drug in the past. I happen to see three different consultants about it in the space of a month. Dr number 1 told me it was going to kill me and I had to get off it NOW. Dr number 2 told me that it was THE one and only drug that I should be on. Dr number 3 wasn't sure, but said that he would prescribe it if I signed a disclaimer. I kept asking them how the drug worked and what it did in the body. None of them knew, they could only tell me the side effects. I'd be better off reading the side of the packet and Googling it. And I could go into more detail about how doctors have let me down in the past but I don't want to bore you. I still ask them for their opinion on things, but always take it with a huge pinch of salt.

You know what? I cannot argue with that. I've had to inform doctors about amino acids before, and had doctors tell me to stop taking Creatine b/c of kidney damage! LOL.I've had some thorough doctors who know their shit, but they are far outweighed by the whack-jobs with licenses.I went with a friend to a surgery once, and the damn surgeon admitted to having to "Google" the procedure! I kid you not. Red flags anyone? So, I hear you. I just hoped maybe your doctor was a little more informed, and deserving of his license. This is why I stay away from doctors, unless something is absolutely required. I prefer homeopathy and natural preventive care.Cory

It is pretty scary most women that are on birth control dont know this.

Honestly I dont know much about birth control. Not a topic I am all that concerned about. I just find it ironic how much AAS use is demonized when so many women(and girls) take birth control without even knowing they are steroids. What I do know is it effects hormones which is a big deal.

sckielyParticipantTechnically carbs fit this category too as they create the insulin to cause the muscle growth.Which is the reason CBL is so effective

The US Gov't is always on a witch hunt. Steroids are just the flavor of the moment, even though they have been in consistent use in US sports since the 60s.Cory

Oh and the recent rise in TRT. Not saying I disagree with TRT being prescribed. Just find it funny how it is ok when that is how it is used and there is a cut to be taken. Also of course how they dress it up and just say "is it low t" haha.

Funny you should mention TRT. Toney Freeman was arrested for being huge, I fucking kid you not, in Sweden. This was during a promotional tour, a couple years back. Sweden is so anti-steroid, that they arrest people they THINK are juicing, and force drug testing.Toney tested positive (no shit) for Testosterone. However, he had a prescrip. - he was on TRT, b/c he is in his 40s. Valid reason, and they had to let him go. Suffice to say, many pros cancelled trips to Sweden around that time, including Cutler. They claimed it was to support Freeman, and to protest Sweden's unfair arrest, but I am sure it was also to save face re: their own use.See the picture attached, it has been floating around the web now for a few years. A still from Cutler's vid. LOL. I love how Cutler denies use, but seems to have no issues letting his gear show up on film, IN HIS FRIDGE! No one caught this in editing?Cory
