jrussoMemberHello,I was thinking of trying the VPX Meltdown fat burner for a month to see if it will help as far as leaning me out quicker. Has anyone tried this before? Do you receive good results? When or how is it best taken for maximum results?

Most of those fatloss formulas are one-in-the-same, and most are under-dosed proprietaries, or utter bullshit.Stick with caffiene. You might consider herbal products like Forslean, as studies show it both boosts test. levels and burns fat.Acetyl-L-Carnitine is another, but it tastes like shit (warning). Get the raw powder in bulk. 1.5g pre-workout or cardio. Boosts androgen receptor sites on muscle cells, as well as mobilizes fat for energy. You'll save your money.Cory

+1 I have really found a fat burning pill that really works. Caffeine powder does truly help. The Acetyl-L-Carnitine does seem to help when taken appropriately. I also like taking Yohimbine HCL from PrimaForce before doing cardio.

jrussoMemberWould Yohimbine HCL work if the only true exercise that I do is walking? Should it only be used for intense exercise like HIIT after a carb nite?

I wouldn't see a problem in taking something like that for a fasted walk and fasted HIIT

+1 for Yohimbine HCL recommendation. I had forgotten that.As for ALCAR (Acetyl-L-Carnitine), it works wonders. I highly recommend it. Fat burning + a boost in andro sites and test? What a friggin' deal! It is also an amino acid, so it is safe to ingest.Cory

jrussoMemberWhat is Forslean? To be honest, I have never heard of it. What does it do exactly? I want something that would be effective. I have some stubborn fat on my lower hips and thighs.

Here is one Forslean product:http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=ET-1492It is a specific concentration of Coleus Forskohlii extract. It raises testosterone (naturally), promotes fat loss. That said, results were obtained from male subjects. I am not sure how it would work for a female, as a woman's base testosterone levels are naturally lower than a guy's, so the boost may not have a significant effect.Source: http://www.ergo-log.com/forskolin.htmlCory

jrussoMemberYou had mentioned that Acetyl-L-Carnitine should only be taken before cardio is that correct? Why is that? Currently, the only cardio that I am doing is a fasted walk every morning. Is that considered cardio and could take this supplement or does it need to be of a very intense nature?

Before cardio or lifting, I do both.Acetyl-L-Carnitine works by two peformance mechanisms that I desire:1. It mobilizes fat for energy (hence using it before exercise). Intense or not, it mobilizes fat... the more intense your exercise, the more mobilized fat you will burn off.2. It boots androgen receptor sites (specifically for Testosterone) on muscle tissue, and it boosts Testosterone. Higher "T" = more strength, greater muscle growth and higher fat burning potential.Cory
