My schedule dictates that I lift twice in the morning (strength based work outs squats, presses back work) and twice in the evening on separate days for technique work( one day to max on the two competition lifts and one day with 5 singles at a given percent on the competition lifts). Per the carb nite strength article I lift 4 days straight right after my carb nite on monday nights. Should I be drinking a shake after my morning workouts? In the past I have been, 30 grams of hydro whey with some bcaas added to it, however I know keifer says to stay away from an insulin spike in the morning so is this not optimal? I also assume workouts in the morning should be fasted?  In the morning sessions I down the shake and then 45-60 minutes later eat a normal low carb breakfast, is this correct? I assume I still need to down a shake after the olympic sessions even though they are not volume based?Am I okay in the way I am setting up post workout nutrition?I am willing to trade some fat loss for recovery in this scenario if this is a concern, as I am looking to gain some strength while dropping fat, and I know ideally this takes some time and cannot be done overnight.

You are fine having your whey shake + BCAAs post training in the morning, I do this every Saturday (due to my schedule).  I just try to get as much of my 12-hour fast in before training.  Just go back to ULC the rest of the day, except on your CN.Cory

+1 Yep whey, leucine and creatine PWO even if it's in the morning time. Just stay ULC the rest of the time.
