bdtillmanKeymastermy wife got her results from about 7 weeks of CNS. according to the bodpod she lost about 1 lb of fat and 3 lbs of muscle. needless to say she was a little worried after reading the CN book and having results that were similar to a low cal diet. Her eating is great as far as i can see. 0530 preworkout - 200mg caffeine, beta-alanine 0600 workout (westside barbell for skinny bastards)0730 protein (H-blend) with luecine creatine and multivitamin0900 coffee with HWC and coconut oil 1100 lunch (usually a fatty meat) 1200 coffee with HWC1400 snack (usually bacon)1830 dinner (usually fatty meat)2100 tea with HWC if hungryall adds up to about 1:1 fat and pro in lean body masswe have traditionally done heavy upper Monday, speed lower Tuesday, speed upper Thursday and heavy lower Friday. she HIITs once to twice a week. since reading kiefers CNS and lifting heavy post we are front loading our week with heavy weights and wrapping up the week with lighter weight, higher rep. However, the funny thing is that he PRs are all going up and she is not feeling tired.Ideas? we are thinking about switching to CBL.

In my experience, CN seems to be pretty muscle-sparing - It sounds like she may not be eating enough calories; exactly how much meat for the lunch and dinner meals? and also how much does she weight and what is her bf% (if you don't know take a guess)

bdtillmanGuestat least 4-6 ounces of meat per meal. snack is about 4-8 pieces of bacon a day. PWO is 30 grams protein. A little adjustment, here are her exact numbers:BODPOD August 7 2012: height 61', weight 120.3lb, bf 27.8 lb, fat free mass 92.5 lbBODPOD Sept 25 2012: height 61', weight 116.5lb, bf 25.7 lb, fat free mass 90.8 lb I was just thinking the 1.7lb lost in fat free mass could be something other that muscle?

Zach516MemberDid she get the second test done before or after a CN? If she had it when she was depleted, that loss could easily have come from glycogen/water, which is part of the fat free mass. That is why you have to be very careful with these measurements to keep the conditions consistent, otherwise the results are kind of useless. If anything, I would be concerned that she only lost a pound in seven weeks.

Just wondering, are you taking any supplements/hcg/thyroid stuff?

+1I've not only maintained ALL of my muscle going into CNS (over 5 months ago), but I've also added muscle (noticeably so). Muscle maintenance is meant to be one of the big pluses of CNS.This definitely raises a red flag for something, but now we have to narrow down to what.Cory

bdtillmanGuestthat was during carb nite. however, the her diet has changed. she was eating greek salads and such the the first BODPOD. now she has switch to ULC with meat and fat only. Aug 7 was a tues and she did the last BODPOD today which is a tues as well. What are the thyroid supplements?

Big_RParticipantI would have to go with overtraining, given the above statements. Inability to repair broken down muscle tissues if there are no medical issues.i was refering to T3 or anything like that. Doctor's actually have access to many thyroid stimulants

bdtillmanGuestdo you think a switch to CBL and back after a while might help? or switching to a carb nite every 5 nights vs 7?
September 25, 2012 at 10:46 pm #85034
Zach516MemberIf its a hormonal problem she should raise calories to maintenance levels, so CBL could work.

Craig jonesParticipantIf it is over training, try shockwave. Really awesome routine. Hard to over train doing that!

bdtillmanGuestit sounds like CBL is the answer to both problems(overtraining and hormones). she is also wanting to work on powerlifting. plus, i am starting cbl next week so hopefully i can talk her in to it. thanks guys
