hi guys, I was wondering how you all mixed up your PWO shakes that have either casein or whey hydrosylates in them. i've tried a nalgene, a smaller glass bottle, and a blender, and they all make the shake separate, foam up, or go lumpy. is this just something that's going to happen inevitably? here's today's glass of foam...

I just use a shaker bottle with a spherical whisk in it. Works fine. If you want it to un-foam just leave it on the side for a bit.

If foam appears I always stick my finger in the center and helps it die down. It's going to happen.

that is an excess of foam... probably due to the high speed whipping of the blender.  Shakers don't usually produce that much foam and plus it doesn't come through the opening while drinking.    best accessory under $5

Same here, Popeye's shaker cup with spherical whisk. I premake all my shakes about an hour before I need them and put them in the fridge. Just take it out and give it a swirl and the foam is gone.RB

I couldn't help but laugh at “today's glass of foam”I have to second Big R - shakers are convenient and EASIER to clean. Its kind of a pain to pull out the blender 20 min after your workout when you should be getting those nutrients in your system as soon as possible. I know Big R and myself get those shakes intra with over 100g of carbs.

hah, was the first (and definitely the last) time i did it that way. i normally shake it together in a nalgene beforehand and let it settle in the fridge for when i get home, but have been trying different options. i think i have one of those mixer ball things somewhere so i'll give that a shotthanks all!edit: broke out the spiral shaker thing today. foam died down in about 30 seconds. fantastic!!
