OpticalStaticKeymasterHi there, long time lurker.I am having success with CNS but really looking to tweak it for my needs and would like some opinions; On none carb nights, I keep to around about 130g:130g of protein to fat calculated to my lean body mass (estimated by Bioelectrical impedance analysis scales). I keep it really clean & quite simple. I have beef every other day, cycled with either pork, lamb, chicken or salmon.Today is my carb nite, for starters I plan on having my obligatory 4 eggs, 4 pieces of bacon along with 2 cups of green tea each with a teaspoon of coconut oil.For kicking of the carb nite, 60g of glucose (dextrose powder) + 10g of whey, then an hour or so later either having a jacket potato with a double steak burger, What is a good ratio to shoot for? 40:30:30?
admittedly, I have messed up on CNS by over eating on low-carb days and started gaining weight, I was done to 17% but went up to 19.5% and could feel it too.

Jas0nGuestThe best advice I can give you, if you'd really like to fine tune your CNS, is to experiment with a variety of ratios and to make sure that no experiment goes to waste and that you gain some knowledge with every carb nite (which takes some planning ahead). Physiologically speaking you'd be better off with more carb-heavy feeds earlier in the CNS and dirtier, higher fat feeds later on however I would personally also experiment with that. The way I am doing it is first finding the amount of carbs that results in maximal vascularity and tightness and minimal bloat and only then I'd manipulate fat intake for an even drier and tighter look.Jason.

Richard SchmittModeratorA good zone to go for? Keep carbs non-existent during the day, keeping the 1:1 ratio for the meals (in grams for fats and proteins), afterwards just enjoy yourself. Don't count the carbs, and just eat like normal. If anything log what you do eat and how it affects you.

OpticalStaticGuestThanks for the replies!I had a pretty good Carb Nite, I only gained 1lb and down to my lowest of 177lbs @ 17.1% BF as of today.I ate quite a bit of sweet stuff; starting off with 50G of whey protein, 50g of glucose (dextrose), half later by a jacket potato with salad. I ate a (285g) packet of Haribos jelly babies and a 200g bag Jamesons raspberry ruffles, a Fry's turkish delight before having a spaghetti bolognese and a glass of red wine, which was followed up with an apple strudel with ice cream. then a glass of milk (semi) and jam donut (forced down).Wouldn't like to say how many carbs, but it was an awful lot. I did not drink a lot either during the carb nite, just that glass of wine and milk, yes my mouth was particularly dry 🙂Also I am not lifting or doing any particular exercise except a couple of miles walking most days.
