Hi allI am going to Australia soon, which involves 31 hours of flight time and about 15 hours of transit time.I was wondering how you maintain a high fat/protein-low carb diet while in the air? I was thinking about making a big batch of low carb protein bars and snacking on them and just picking out the chicken/salmon in the in-flight meals? How do you guys handle long flights? And does anyone have an awesome recipe for a bar? Cheers Stef
Been there! If you don't get in trouble, and I haven't, but pack some coconut oil in a ziploc bag and keep it on a carry-on bag. Because if you stuff it in the upper storage it'll stay cool because of being in the air. Also, cook bacon ahead of time too. If they give you any type of meal try getting chicken, plain if possible. Or move the sauce or what not away. Add the oil to it and they should serve coffee too.
I don't know that an airplane ride would warrent cheating - to each his own, but that hardly seems worth it.
Depends on what is more stressful to you, after all. I did both, and in the end after 3-4 weeks there is no real difference. The stress levels for me are way lower when I don't have to bring my own food on the plane, and anyways the food on the plane is way under my maintenance levels anyways. If you're not preparing for a contest, it makes zero difference.
