tommydyhrKeymasterHi. I'm totally new to these boards, and any serious diet really. I read up a lot on CBL, and I'm on the 7th day on prep phase so far (just hit devastating lethargy yesterday).I've been wondering a lot about one single question though, as I simply love bread rolls with various stuff in the morning. How much would it throw me off course, if I chose to have a few of these with some carb-heavy spread? It would amount to ~200ish grams of carbs, and I'd probably do it once every other week.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorI mean, you could do it, but don't expect near the results. Why not just have same foods just at night instead?

tommydyhrGuestIt's just… I don't know. There's just something about enjoying one of my favorite things to eat, on a Sunday morning, and it's the best way I can imagine to start the day. It's really something I can look forward to several days in advance. If it does sabotage my results too much though, I would be able to leave it out altogether. I'm just curious as to how much of an influence it'd actually have, since it isn't even on a weekly basis.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorThere is no way to know how much it would effect things. You could do it, and you could still get results, but it will be harder. If nothing else you could always just do it whenever you want and if you are stalling then just cut it out as your first tweak.

Well, if you are going by the book and protocol a breakfast with carbs would completely sabotage everything. The whole point of skipping breakfast and not eating carbs until after your training is to keep you in a state of fat burning for as long as possible and then take advantage of a window after training in which you can replenish all cells but fat cells and not store any fat on top of it. Additionally, breakfast would disrupt your growth hormone production and cortisol levels that are high in the AM.You could always have your favorite treats during the back load. I know you love the ritual and sure it probably wouldn't be the end of the world if you did indulge. Just remember you can fool your brain but not your body and the consequences will show no matter what. Your dedication and discipline are all a matter of how much you want your goal. You have the freedom to choose any path you like but remember you are the one responsible for if you've reached your goals or not in the end. I always ask myself if a little piece of tasty food is strong enough to break me and steal my goals away. Sounds overly dramatic I know but I'm competitive and some stupid little pop tart isn't going to win...I'll destroy him later and let his sugary soul fuel my progress.

Suck it up, I mean have the "breakfast" after training, it's not that difficult. If anything have eggs, sausage, and bacon around 10am/11am

Brandon D ChristParticipantUm no. I would also love to have a big stack of banana pancakes drenched in maple syrup in the morning. Do this and expect to have little progress. CBL is really delicate and you just can't cheat like this.If you were on Carb Nite I'd say it's ok to do this every once and awhile.

tommydyhrGuestGreat, thanks for all the replies.Considering the facts, I've decided to make any breakfast a no-go at all times, and I'll just treat myself extra good in the evenings. This seems to be the only viable approach towards greatness 🙂The replies was actually kinda what I expected, but I just wanted to make sure.

Good choice. Sorry if some of them came off as a little blunt and harsh. These questions are a little funny to read though. "So I understand how the diet works my only question is: Dieting is really hard and I don't want to give up what I want so can I do the exact opposite and still get the same results?"
