chnacatKeymasterhi. my name is lisa, i'm 45, and currently 155 lbs. i'm 5'4″. over the past nine months, i've lost 63 pounds doing mainly atkins, but i switched from atkins about 2 months ago to eating mostly raw foods, mostly vegan, but w/ the occasional bacon, or chicken. i'm not averse to eating meat, i just haven't felt like it much after 7 months on atkins. i eat very cleanly, no dairy, no grains.i'm interested in CN to blast off the last 24 pounds and lose this fat and get lean, but i'm not a cross fitter, and i don't power lift or do much HIT. i mostly do jillian michaels workouts. lately a lot of cardio kick boxing, but also her 30 day shred and other workouts that are 3 minutes strenght, 2 minutes cardio, 1 minute abs (several rounds of...)i like her workouts because they are short, about 20 to 30 minutes, which is about all i can manage to carve out during the day.i love the idea of eating very low carb and then having 1 night to eat whatever, but i don't want to eat a lot of processed sugar and crap foods. i should also mention that i'm extremely gluten intolerant, so any bread or grain carbs i eat will have to be gluten free.i just ordered the book on amazon, so i'm waiting for it to arrive, but in the mean time, i thought i'd ask if the CN solution might work for me?any help is much appreciated!thankslisa

any idea what your body fat is at? also i would strongly suggest actual resistance-training paired with carbnite. Cardio is not optimal for Lean Body weight maintenance and in some instances can become counterproductive. I think once you resistance train with carb nite you will understand that your muscles will be tapping into fat stores regularly by restricting carbs 6 days out of the week, due to very low glycogen stores. Not only is it the most optimal nutritional strategy, it works it's magic quite rapidly. Best of Luck

Lesli BortzParticipantYou'll want to be eating fatty meats (beef, steak), bacon, eggs, cheese if you like…You may have to let go of how "amazing" eating clean is. It's really not.Resistance training would be best - especially if you want to add shape to your body. But I believe on CNS you don't have to do any cardio/training and it will still work. Resistance training will just move it along faster. There are also many updates to CNS so you'll have to sift through the forums. Reading all of the articles on this site will also be helpful.

d3spwnParticipantPlease don't be vegan. It's really not healthy nor environmentally sustainable in the long run. Also, you don't have to eat junk on CNS. Safe starches (as the paleo people call them) such as sweet potato's, yams, white rice, etc. will do just fine.
